It was my first time going to "Old Joe's Cabin" yesterday and I was totally impressed when I walked in. It's cute, it's cozy, and the washroom's and the rest of the place were immaculate. Got a great feeling about the place and was hoping the food and service was just as pleasing. We were looking for a good burger today, I quickly scanned the menu, and to my excitement, They had burgers that were homemade. They have "homemade burgers" I excitedly explained to my brother!!!! He headed to the washroom and when he came back and announced that "The washrooms are awesome", I felt really good about our decision to eat here today. So far, so good!! Still hoping the food would be great. Our server was less than "enthusiastic". My brother and I weren't in a hurry and possibly I should of mentioned that to her, but as we were her ONLY customers in the place, I didn't think we needed to do that. She seemed to rush us to order. She was there, and there and then seemed to just disappear. Not sure what was going on? We ordered an appetizer. "Garlic LOAF". She obviously forgot to order it because it took forever.... When it came....Was not impressed, more disappointed than anything. They possibly should change the name to "The smallest bun they could find in the kitchen today" They charged $11 for it. Definitely not worth it. With a name like "Old Joe's Cabin", I was expecting something clearly different. This clearly isn't a fine dining restaurant. I was fearing what my meal would look it. They had wine on tap. VERY WEIRD. We ordered the burgers. My brother ordered the "Old Joe" burger, and I ordered the smash burger. They were ACTUALLY AMAZING. So flavourful. The onion rings and fries were a little under done, but that could be remedied by asking for them to be cooked longer. It is QUITE obvious that someone has spent a lot of time, thought and money on this place and possibly they need to instill that into the staff. Maybe our server was new, or maybe she just didn't want to be here. Not sure. Will I go back? Most definitely, for that burger, and to try other stuff on the menu, but will definitely be asking more questions, and hope for a server who actually wants to be there.

It’s a nice looking place with great serving staff, but the food is awful. We went in at 1pm on a Saturday and despite being a large restaurant located downtown there wasn’t a single soul inside. This was an immediate red flag. Based on this, I was already suspicious so I looked at the menu for something that was least likely to give me food poisoning. I settled on vegetarian nachos for $17. Somehow they still managed to serve me bacteria… the sour cream had bubbles and was the consistency of water. It tasted putrid. The chips were stale and tasted like perfume, like they had been stored with an air freshener in the box and had some kind of white sauce on them that resembled ranch salad dressing. Pretty sure the cheese was melted in the microwave. Don’t go to this place for anything beyond a drink from a can.

After our walk along the Saugeen River trail my wife and I stopped in here for lunch . She had the chicken parmesan sandwich with creamy cauliflower soup while I had the Uncle Joes special burger and fries . Both were very tasty and we were completely stuffed . I couldn’t finish my fries even with the wife’s help . The coffee was tasty and plentiful although just barely warm . I noticed that they keep it in a carafe by the check in counter . The server was friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend and return.

We were really hoping the change of ownership wouldn't change the quality of the food or service, but unfortunately after giving it several tries we will not be returning. Small changes have been noted since the change of ownership, but we kept hoping they were just working out some kinks. Unfortunately our last visit this week was by far the worst. We ordered 2 draft beers to be told they no longer carry draft, but we could get a bottle. We loved the craft beer variety here, but that is no more. So we opted for coke, which was more like a warm syrup. No more handcut fries, and the quality of the fish is NOT the same. Seeing as how they no longer carry Draft, and their fish and chips used to be made with Cowbells Bobcat Ale, is the first sign the fish isn't made in house anymore. That, and the fact the fish is all the same size and shape, and not half as good as before is another way to know. The food took FOREVER to arrive, even though there was very few customers. It's new staff every time you go in, though our server was lovely and apologetic it is not fair they have to deal with disappointed customers and serve poor quality food and beverage. Now they are opening for breakfast soon, which doesn't make sense. Please just try to focus on bringing back the quality we have known and have come to expect from Joe's. Stop cutting back on costs by serving poor quality food. It used to be our top choice, but we will no longer return or bring guests here, which is so sad. And treat your staff better, it's never a good sign when you are always hiring and lost all the amazing servers we...

Over the years we have been here many times and always had a great experience. That all changed this holiday season. We made a reservation for our large group almost two months in advance. When we arrived the tables were not set up for our group at all and we ended up putting the tables together ourselves. That would come to be the very least of our concerns. Next up we were told the beer taps were not working so no beer on draft, which happens, fine, except when we tried to order cans and were told the fridge was also broken, so we were limited to bottles of a limited selection. The menu was more or less the same which we were pleased about, the food, however, was not at all the same. Our pickle spears were way over cooked, I ordered the butter chicken, which was the worst butter chicken I have ever had. Others at our table universally agreed the food was not good. Perhaps the worst part of it all was that the food came out in the most staggered fashion, meals for our group came out over a period of an hour from the first meal to the last. The first people were long finished while the later were still waiting to eat. I understand we are larger group but we have been here as a group before and never had this problem. Our apps also came out at random, after our mains. I will say the server did try her best but nothing could overcome the poor food quality, and the overwhelmingly slow delivery of the food coming out of the kitchen, and the lack of beer either on draft or in cans. The one good thing was the atmosphere and cleanliness were still very good, but sadly we will not be...
