I recently had the pleasure of dining at Boston Pizza, and I must say, it was an incredible experience from start to finish! The combination of delicious food and a knowledgeable, attentive staff truly made my visit memorable. My friends and I visited bps on June 7th at around 1:00pm and after our visit we were shocked at how absolutely miserable the vast majority of the staff was. I went with two of my friends to bps while the rodeo was in town and we typically sit in the regular side but decided that day we would sit in the lounge. My friends and I were able to choose where we sat due to there being very few customers there at the moment likely due to the rodeo being in town. My friends and I each provided our ID's while waiting for someone to come over and check them and once a server did come over after about 5 minutes she glanced quickly at my friends ID's before stopping and staring at mine for a good half minute at the very least before handing it back to me with a dirty expression as if my ID was an insult. My friends and I brushed her off and talked until another server whom we graduated with served us and was very patient, kind, and clear-spoken and just in general very professional which my friends and I appreciated. After awhile the same server who looked at our ID's came to take our food orders and first took my two friends orders with heavy disinterest and a very annoyed, bothered expression despite the orders being very simple. When she looked at me to take my order with the same disinterest painted across her face I asked her clearly and simply how much Quesadillas came with an order of them as well as how big they were and the portion we would receive if we ordered it. When I was finished with my question she answered me back with what I can only describe as a hateful sneer, looking at me as if I was absolutely stupid before saying "They're quesadillas, they come with the regular amount." The server said in a matter-of-fact tone of voice. By then my friends and I were absolutely done speaking with this woman and I ordered the bandera bread which after receiving I inspected for spit or other bodily fluids from that server woman as I wouldnt put it past her to do such a thing to a customers meal. During the course of our meal the servers had all gathered in the corner of the bar and were giggling, laughing and joking about various things which was fine with my friends and I except we would've appreciated it if we could hear each other speak without having to raise our own voices. Our food came out fast and it was very good and we appreciated that the cooks knew how to do their jobs efficiently and well because the servers did not. My friends and I paid and we left, I personally did not leave a tip because only the server who gave us our drinks and the cooks deserved one. The servers for years have constantly been a major problem with the Brooks, Alberta Boston Pizza and I would not suggest this place to anyone. There was barely a stitch of sauce on the pasta I received. I asked for mushrooms, and got a grand total of 5 very thinly sliced, barely present mushrooms...the pasta with LITERALLY 2 tablespoons of sauce in a huge tray of noodles. It was late, I was tired, but I gave them a call. I spoke with Colleen, the manager. Her phone etiquette, her care, her kindness and sincerity really stood out for me. She was very apologetic and gave me a few options as to how she would rectify it. I told her I didn’t want a new meal because it’s so late, but she assured me she could be there in 10 minutes to deliver it herself. This impressed me! Things don’t always go right, but how that’s handled goes a long way. The unfortunate thing was that the second meal that came was no better than the first. I guess that’s just how their food is, so I will never order Boston pizza’s pasta again, because it’s by far the worst pasta I’ve ever had. I would’ve taken canned pasta over this. The food gets zero stars, because I just threw two containers into the garbage now rather than one, but the management is great and Colleen deserves 5 stars.
