If you are looking to get great sushi, no nonsense and no small chit chat from its wait staff, this is the place for you. The place is jam packed with patrons when we got there on a weekend at 6 p.m. The smart thing to do is make reservations ahead of time and you can access that through their web site. No reservations would result in a long wait. We were seated immediately when we got in on the dot. The menu is extensive and the prices are reasonable. We opted to add the extra add-on to the entree for an additional $9.00. The add-on menu comes with a salad of your choice, an appetizer of your choice, and dessert after your entree is served. The sunomono salad is lovely and the miso soup is silky and delicious. We tried the agedashi tofu, the vegetable tempura, and the croquette. We had initially wanted to try the pork and shrimp spring roll but they were sold out. Not disappointing as the other appetizers are delicious and in generous portions. The chirashi bowls are beautifully presented and the selection of fish is very fresh. The sushi platter is also very nicely displayed and scrumptious. We ended our meals with ice-cream. Definitely worth another visit since the food quality is wonderful. The wait staff could be a tad friendlier but understandable that they just want the customers to just eat and go. Go...

Ive been there maybe 15 yrs ago, the decor haven’t changed a bit. Booked a table of 8 at 5pm on a Thursday. They offer two time slots for big group, 5pm or 7:30pm. By 6pm, tables were filling up pretty fast and many ppl came for pickup as well. There was only 1 waiter serving but he was quick and very responsive. He often came asking us if everything was fine. Besides our big table, there were about 5-6 tables of 2-3 ppl. For such a busy evening, I find the restaurant served food timely and the waiter was quick. Everyone was very pleased this time (vs Mont Brise). The à la carte came with soup or salad and with a bowl of rice. The fish were fresh and they had bentos as well. The dishes portions are decent and we had leftovers to bring home after too. However I find the teriyaki brochettes too salty to my taste but my brother liked them . The fried ice cream was ok, it looked more like a fried crêpe roll more than the usual fried ice cream ball.

Removing one star for the decor and the AC was very very weak. It was very stuffy there and barely any AC. We were sitting just below the AC and we couldnt feel any wind blowing. The tables were uneven/shaky and the chairs were sticky.

Overall we had fun and a nice bday dinner,...

A casual and family-friendly eatery in the south shore, one of our rotating restaurants for years. They offer an full array of authentic Japanese dishes ranged from the comforting udon katsu to the refined elegance of nigiri. In addition to an extensive list of Entrées from cold/fried/grilled/baked, the succulent Rimouski Uni and the flavorsome Alaska snow crab have lately made theirs ways to the chalkboard menu. Since the new owner/chef has taken over, the service has seen remarkable improvement and has even undergone a partial redecoration recently. At last, the awkward black leather tablecloths have been removed and those uncomfortable round chairs have been replaced. While the new owner's culinary skills are still evolving and have yet to match those of his predecessor, the food remains quite enjoyable and satisfying.
