This is a relatively new chain in the area - they started popping up all over.
Jacques Cartier pizza is located in a strip mall, it is a small restaurant ideal for take out. There are 2 tables in the restaurant and a couple outdoor seats. Although they specialize in pizza, the menu also features fast food items like burgers, hot dogs, wings, poutines, submarine sandwiches and pasta.
We walked in and ordered a combo special, a medium size 14inch "Western" pizza, it comes with 2 cans of soda and a small french fry. The menu advertises this at a special price if you opt for the "All dressed" pizza. When we were discussing options, the employee working at the counter told us it's not just that type, we could pick any pizza we wanted. The way he said it, it made it seem like he would do us a favor and just let us pick any type at that price. Once he rang up the bill though, it was an extra $3 or so to get the toppings we wanted. The meal came up to around $36 or $38 which didn't seem like much of a "special".
The pizza itself was very good, better than I expected. I was glad the toppings were generous and fresh. The toppings were distributed mostly in the center of the pizza though and not spread far enough on the edges. The fries were not good - these are frozen, boring, flavorless fries. Too crispy on the outside, not salted well. I wouldn't get them again.
There's a pizza joint at every corner in the area, I didn't think Jacques Cartier stood out from the competition. We found this chain to be pricy compared to other local pizza places that offer 2 for 1 deals for example, or walk-out specials. I know other places that offer a large pizza with a carry-out special price of $15, whereas all the pizza options here are $25 to $35 min.
I haven't received any coupons or heard about specials since they opened so unless they have a new promotion doubtful I...
Read moreI've ordered twice from this branch of Jacques Cartier Pizza and I have to say that I am extremely satisfied with their pizzas. I usually request a thick crust and they obliged each time. Most other pizza places don't even bother as it confuses them when they go "off script" lol.
The person who took the order was very nice and pleasant, as was the person who delivered it. The 2 pizzas I ordered both had thick crust and were well done, like I requested. Lots of toppings and lots of cheese! Absolutely delicious each time! I consider myself very fussy when it comes to pizza and Jacques Cartier Pizza (on Rome) is definitely one of the best on the South Shore!
Thank you and keep up...
Read moreIt was our first time here. Ordered an 8” bambino and a poutine. We paid for toppings and got hardly any. At least 75% of the pizza was crust and empty dough. The cheese and toppings were set in one place in the center. I had to spread the cheese and topping across the pizza. Honestly for the price we paid it should’ve been made properly. The poutine was ok but the pizza was a huge disappointment. Got about 2 decent bites that tasted good out of the whole pizza. If it was made properly I would’ve probably given 4-5 stars. Spent $25 on an 8” pizza (or I should say dough) and a regular poutine....
