I've been here once before but I REALLY felt the need to write a review after my last visit.
I came in for the Chicken Pozole, which they only have on special occasions. It was so amazing, and just warmed my soul, which was super hungover from a metal concert the night before.
After our meal, the owner?/chef came over to ask how we liked everything.
I had a conversation about the difference between Pork and Chicken Pozole and the broths, and she literally asked if I wanted to try the pork one for free.
I'm thinking she is going to bring me a small cup of broth, but no she brings me a full bowl and tells me to try. MY GOD, the Pork was even MORE AMAZING than the chicken pozole.
After that, I told her how much I enjoyed it, and she brought us a corn salad (Esquites) just because she believed we would love it since we liked the Pozole.
My god, it was cheesy, creamy, a bit sour and sweet from the corn. An absolute perfect dish.
I've now had (Over two trips) the Tacos, Quesadilla, Pozole, Esquites, Beans with Chips, and Tortilla Soup and everything was amazing both times.
The owner/chef just told me loves to cook (IT SHOWS) and its how she shows her love and caring for people.
PLEASE come here, I don't normally beg people to go to a restaurant but I already reccomended this place to like three different people since I was in on the weekend.
And I will be back soon. 5 out of 5, authentic and delicious.

Read moreI can see how this place might appeal to those looking for authentic Mexican food, but based on its location in Burlington, there’s a lot of room for improvement.
First off, the menu isn’t very kid-friendly. There were no standard ground beef tacos, and it wasn’t clear that the tacos were made with corn tortillas instead of flour. That kind of detail should be mentioned up front. The menu also isn’t very accessible unless you're already familiar with traditional Mexican cuisine — it could really benefit from better descriptions or even photos to help guide diners who may not know what certain dishes are.
Communication was another challenge — the waitstaff struggled with English, making it difficult to ask questions or clarify menu items. While we appreciate authenticity, some adaptation to the local crowd would go a long way. If you're in Burlington, you're catering to a diverse customer base, many of whom may not be used to authentic Mexican flavors and formats.
As for the food itself, while we came in open-minded, it unfortunately didn’t deliver in terms of flavor. Nothing we ordered tasted particularly bold or memorable. A boost in seasoning, spice, or citrus could have made a big difference.
Sadly, nothing stood out enough for us to want to return. For now, it feels like a missed opportunity — with some changes, this could be a great spot, but as it stands, it didn’t meet our...
Read moreWe really loved Camilla MX in Burlington… Northeast corner of Walkers line and Highway 5 Dundas, in the LCBO and Farm boy mall.
My wife and I had a quick dine-in tasting meal one night to sample a few of the great things that the Camilla team offers for dine in restaurant, takeout, and also catering.
We were so impressed with the authentic Mexican food, that we spent over $300 in catering for a special birthday party for our family a week later… And we were not disappointed.
The food was fresh and amazing. The authentic guacamole, the great chips that come along with it… The pico de gallo… The beef Tinga, the flautas (vegetarian), and my favourite the messy, but very tasty Quesabirra (hot chessy beef tacos) along with the al Pastor chicken dishes were so great.
The Mexican rice was light, but very aromatic and flavourful as well. Then to finish off we ordered the churros/donuts, sugary and tasty as well.
We are definitely going back to visit Camila, and we have recommended all of our friends to go there as well… It truly is an authentic Mexican restaurant in Burlington.
I was in Queretaro, Mexico in April, and this food is as authentic as what you get near Mexico City. Visit soon!
(PS we have no relationship with the Camila family… Other than appreciating the love they put into their food and the experience you have as a guest with...
