Hangry Chicken — Restaurant in Burlington

I recently received a Hangry Chicken flyer in the mail. I had never heard of this place, even though I had been in the plaza where it is located. I read the reviews and so we decided to give it a try for take-out yesterday and were not disappointed.

The young lady that took our order was friendly, helpful and patient as I asked a few questions about the menu choices. We ordered a whole chicken dinner that comes with two large sides. We chose the rice and fries. It also comes with 4 sauces that you get to choose from and we asked for them on the side. We chose two medium, one hot and one honey-hot sauce. The order was ready in about 10 minutes. Very well packaged with environmentally friendly 'boxes' and placed in a sturdy paper bag, And they added two 'chipotle-mayo' dips for the fries at no additional charge.

The chicken was super tasty, moist and delicious with a light seasoning that you can enjoy with or without the sauces. I really liked the hot-honey sauce with the chicken and the dipping sauce for the fries was really good too. My son did not care for the sauces and enjoyed the chicken as it was. We really enjoyed the rice and the fries were exceptional also.

Overall a great meal, at a reasonable price, with generous servings which meant there was enough left for next day meals. A whole chicken dinner would easily feed a family of four. As long as it's not a family of Sumo Wrestlers! We appreciated the fast and friendly service here and so I would highly recommend Hangry Chicken and plan to...

With the plethora of chicken restaurants in North Burlington, I decided to see how this one ranked, especially in the category of hot chicken sandwiches.

Ordered the honey hot chicken sandwich, chicken tenders and chicken tacos to go, while waiting I’m reading the wall plaques about only using grain fed, cruelty free, hormone free chicken, which is a good thing.

The staff were friendly enough, lots of people in the kitchen, pricing in line with other chicken places…

This place was promising and I was ready for a great meal…. It was underwhelming 😒

This was not angry chicken, more like a mildly discontented chicken!

No good heat in the hot honey chicken sandwich, rather bland actually. The sandwich was a good size, and looked promising, couple bites in…. Nothing special, more heat in a Wendy’s spicy chicken, not really flavourful either, disappointing

Chicken strips with fries, good amount of fries, chicken looked crispy, but again, missed the mark and very basic, best thing was the chicken tacos, loaded up with toppings, generous portion and decent, a unique option for those that don’t want a large amount of fried chicken.

This chicken option isn’t horrible, the portions were generous and pricing in line, chicken raised in a responsible way, but if you’re called “hangry” chicken, you better live up to it in...

Don’t waste your hard earned money here!

I used to frequent Hangry Chicken for its quality meals, but my recent visit was deeply disappointing. I ordered a whole chicken and a power bowl with specific instructions for no tomatoes and extra sweet potatoes on the salad. Contrary to my request, the salad came loaded with tomatoes and was missing the sweet potatoes entirely. When I placed my order over the phone, the staff could have informed me of the unavailability of sweet potatoes, allowing me to adjust my plans accordingly. However, this was not communicated, and I was presented with an incorrect order upon arrival which I paid for (with tip) and then requested a refund. Well that’s another story because they refunded me the salad, but not my tip that i included. 😡

The quality of the food has noticeably declined. The chicken, once a highlight, was dry and unenjoyable. The overall ambiance of the place has shifted as well, with changes in staff attitude and a drop in service quality.

After voicing my concerns on social media and being promised a follow-up call that never came, I am left with no choice but to rate Hangry Chicken poorly. Both the food quality and customer service were unsatisfactory. It's unfortunate to see such a decline in a place I once enjoyed. I recommend looking elsewhere for better quality...
