We attended for a birthday party with 12 guests on a Saturday evening. Like some of the other reviewers, I can say the whole experience took way too long. I’m also not sure whose interpretation of fine dining is having water glasses filled every 10 minutes when few were actively drinking it, but in a private room full of guests it quickly became irritating.
Beef carpaccio was fair, but the quantity of shaved parm on top was a little much, and the beef was not layered on the plate but literally stuck to it requiring scraping to eat it. Still good though. My ravioli with pesto sauce also quite good.
My wife had the seafood linguine and none of the sea scallops were properly cooked. Raw, basically. By the sounds of it, none of the scallops ordered around the table were properly cooked. A waste of an expensive protein for sure. Lamb chops also appeared raw/undercooked but were apparently quite good.
The real issue came when it was time to pay. Our server was relatively attentive and nice, but the billing per couple was a comedy of errors. We completely understand he is new to the restaurant but straightening this out took the better part of a hour with other staff required to clear it up.We sent the majority of our party home while we waited to pay. We also appreciate how difficult serving large groups is, but billing should be a straight forward process.
Once we reviewed the menu prior to this night, and seeing the pricing I believe we expected excellence, but fell well short of it. The atmosphere is a bit tired, with chairs lining hallways only adding to the clutter. Service was slow and staggered from guest to guest. I think the fair thing would have been for two servers to handle larger groups to try and make dishes land in unison. Again, for less money it would not be noticed, but at this price point it’s the expectation.
To the proprietors, perhaps align the pricing of your offering realistically to the service you provide. When you inflate pricing to create an impression of luxury you need to be able to execute as your patrons will naturally be more critical with higher expectations.
End-to-end 4+ hours to complete. Could have eaten at The Keg twice, and for...

This place is quite upscale. Everything is premium and quality and the price reflects that. Not a casual or cheap eatery at all.
We had a reservation and were seated by the fire place. During the short walk to our table by the maitre-d fellah, we were shown the stocked bar and the glass walled wine room. Quite fancy.
It was a quiet Monday evening and the only other patrons appeared to be two small groups of well off pensioners.
The menus had a nice variety of choices but not so many that we were overwhelmed. There was also a separate steak menu that showed some premium cuts of meat such as Japanese Wagyu, Bison, and Tomahawk steak. They also have quite the selection of Wines and Booze.
The special of the day was a Cajun swordfish. I was tempted to get it but I went with the 10oz Bison steak instead. The Mrs ordered Filet Mignon and we ordered the Escargot to start. We requested a red wine to go well with her steak and they let her sample a wine selection before they poured her a glass. She said it was really good.
The Escargot arrived quickly and was extremely delicious. It was mixed with Ontario field mushrooms, and some sort of garlic sauce in a Filo pastry shell. Quite delicious. We also got a basket of fresh baked bread with butter. Also really scrumptious.
Our mains arrived and didn't disappoint. Both of our steaks were heavenly and cooked to perfection. My Bison steak was so tender and juicy my mouth is watering now just from writing this review.
After dinner we were given the dessert menu. The waiter asked us if we were celebrating anything and when we told him about the special day he sped off and returned with a slice of cheesecake on the house. Shortly afterwards the maitre d guy came over and offered us some sparkling wine on the house too. We were thankful but went with some coffees instead. Both the Cheesecake and the coffees were very good.
We left with full bellies and big smiles. The staff were warm and friendly as we left and hoped we would return again....and I think we will. :)
I just have to save some money :P

And now - The Food.
We started with a Baked Brie and Caesar Salad, Coke to drink for myself and a Cherry Based Alcoholic Beverage for my partner. The Brie, wrapped in a lovely pastry was brilliantly served with fresh fruits and what looks to be a fruit based drizzle. All combined created a beautiful mix of flavors in the mouth. The Caesar followed suit, delivering an very well mixed set of ingredients into a mouth watering dressing. This was how our night started, I couldn't wait to see what our dinner would taste like.
Upon waiting for our main course, we were greeted repeatedly by staff, none of which felt forced. The employees were genuine and enjoyed having conversation with their customers.
We had a few more beverages, which were delicious in their own right. The bar served a Coconut Cosmo that was breathtaking.
We received a freshly baked bread loaf, with a nice crust, lightly dusted with sea salt. Served Warm.
Upon receiving our Main dishes. I knew I was in for a surprise. Lobster Carbonara for my partner and a Filet Mignon for myself. The meat on both dishes melted away on our tongues. Imagine being able to cut a beef cut with a fork. THAT is how tender this meal was. Each chew releasing bursts of pepper, and a reduction that was out of this world.
I ate so much that I didn't get to order a Dessert. I will be going back to this restaurant - and when I do, I can't WAIT to try the...
