Lazeez Shawarma — Restaurant in Burlington

The worst experience ever! It’s the first day of winter holidays, me and my family are sick because of this awful place. I tried this place three times before writing my review to make sure 100% about it, I will not talk about the shawarma itself as it is not even related to the real shawarma (they shouldn’t call it shawarma) but I will talk about two other things. 1st thing is the behaviour of the lady working there, completely disrespecting the clients, always “pretending “ that she doesn’t understand what you’re saying and yes she is pretending, the order always missing something, and when you tell her that I ordered (tahini for example) she acts like oh u did!! And start acting angry like you are the one who did something wrong. Every time I go to this location there is no one waiting outside the kitchen, u have to knock on the door of the kitchen so someone can come and help u. This time she literally came out of the kitchen with her gloves covered in marinade, and she didn’t even wash her hands , just throw this one away and put a new one to start making my sandwiches. Everything was not clean at all even the grill was so bad , the chicken was so dry and obviously not fresh at all, after making 6 sandwiches wrong and I told her for the fourth time what exactly I asked for (which was very simple order btw) she “reopened “ all the sandwiches to put what I asked for, and as u can tell the sandwiches went soggy and broken. U will not get what u payed for unless u check your order many times and ask her many times to add what u wanted. This place is disgusting, not clean, the staff is awful and I will never go there again. Btw, we didn’t finish the sandwiches that we ordered because while we were so hungry and eating I saw traces of marinade on the bag and I remembered that she was going in and out of the kitchen while preparing the sandwiches. Yes you are right we shouldn’t eat any of these sandwiches from the beginning, and yes I regret it. That’s why I am writing this review now to tell everyone not to eat from this place. I visited this location today (Wednesday, November 23/2022 @ 2pm), when I arrived there was no one behind the counter or any customers in the restaurant, shortly thereafter a middle aged middle eastern/Indian woman came out from the back kitchen area, I was looking at the menu deciding on what to order, this woman did see me but did “NOT” acknowledge my presence in this establishment at all (1st occurrence), I then walked over to where she was standing and stood directly in front of her in front of the cash register, again she did “NOT” acknowledge my presence (2nd occurrence), she seemed to be looking at cash receipts/orders that were on the counter around the register, I stood in front of her for approximately 1 minute and once again she did “NOT” acknowledge me at all (3rd occurrence), not once did she say “just one moment sir” or anything to acknowledge me as her customer, it was then I decided to leave the restaurant without saying a word and not ordering anything from her, as I walked away she did not say a word to me (4th occurrence). As I was leaving the restaurant I did notice that the Shawarma rotisserie was not moving and she had a pile of meat just spread out on the flat cook top (which was not on), this tells me they simply “reheat” their product they sell their customers, the idea of “FRESH” is obviously not in their vocabulary!!…….this franchisee needs to educate themselves on what is involved with “CUSTOMER SERVICE”, this service is priority #1 before anything else, my experience today tells me they certainly do not value their customers who were willing to spend their money at their establishment…….that said, all was not lost with this poor experience, I drove 7 minutes down the road to “ZESTY PITA” and was treated with FANTASTIC customer service and FANTASTIC food, I can see why ZESTY PITA is so highly rated as they are…….(I would suggest the owner view their security video on how this employee treats their customers), I will NOT visit this establishment again and will DEFINITELY share my experience with family...

This place is a disaster. I'm done giving them the benefit of the doubt. Today was my worst experience of many bad experiences. I came in to the store 2023/01/20 to get a greek salad with Chicken on top. I had a look at the open salad toppings and saw a container of rusty lettuce. Rusty like it was cut with a knife yesterday, and left out all night. I asked if she had any fresh lettuce and she said yes. The onions were almost brown. The parsley - dried up as if it came out of a jar of dried spices. Everything looked unwell. I ordered under the condition that she would use fresh toppings. No surprise, she proceeded to make my salad with the SAME gloves that she used to drop falafal in the fryer, bag uber eats orders, etc. I didnt even bother asking for a refund, because I don't think she would know how to do it.

A nice touch is the shopping card sitting in the store down the hall where the non existent customer bathrooms should be. I expect they use this to transport their garbage to the dumpster. Disgusting to be in an open area where people eat. I would encourage the region to take a look at this place, and do a thorough spot inspection, as they suffer from many of the same infractions that the previous dodgy #1 Shawarma suffered from.

This was just my most recent experience. Other experiences have included ordering extra meat/chicken and not receiving it. I think they just try to make the prepared chicken stretch until end of shift. I've also been sick a few times after eating here. Not pointing the finger, but it if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck.... I've also gone in and had the misfortune of dealing with workers who don't speak a lick of English enough to get an order correct.

I am done giving money to this place. I will make sure I look closely at the most recent inspection in the window next time to see how up to date it is. I am predicting this place is...
