I bought my family there to celebrate a birthday and the atmosphere was so dead and gloomy. It was very depressing. We decided to go to support the new owners and we promise we would come back after they hosted the Family Fun Day for children. We used the gift certificate that was handed out at the family fun day event. We started of with crab cakes as our appetizer. Ridiculously expensive $16 for 2 crab cakes. My sister order a wrap and specifically told the waiter ( young man) no onions. Wrap order came out with onions and she had to pick it out before every bite in her wrap. I order 1bs of breaded wings and another pound of non- breaded wings. My 1bs of wings weren’t event breaded was still charged for the price of breaded wings. Waiter walked around several times and didn’t refill our beverage and we had to asked him twice. My nephew wanted a refill on his pop and they charged us $3.98 on a children pop refill! Seriously!?! It wasn’t even a full cup. We had left overs that we wanted to take home and asked the waiter for 2 takeout containers please. He comes back with 1 container when I asked loud and clear for 2. (SMH) We got our bill and didn’t say anything because it was probably a slow night but honestly some of the charges were unbelievable. Very disappointed and I find that it was very dishonest on how they charge for things on their menu. We payed our bill and still gave a tip despite the horrible experience because as I said early probably a slow night. Still doesn’t give them any right to charge people like that! Went on June 10th had a wonderful lunch on the patio, our first time there. We were very happy with the service and the menu selection, and shared our great experience with friends recommending they try it. HOWEVER, went last night-June 24 2022 for dinner and it was VERY VERY poor.( how something so good can change in two weeks- is beyond me!) We were told we could only select from the Pub menu, (very limited, and not even a salad option) as they were in the processes of changing menu's. After ordering Nacho's ( do not recommend them- no toppings- a bit of veg no meat of any kind, the cheese through the middle was cheese-wiz I think-just awful- with some real cheese just grated on top for 22$!!) we discovered other guests were receiving fish and chips, salads and other options. Asked our server why? her reply was- this was the menu I was instructed to give out-sorry. Service was very slow, she was nice enough but didn't seem to care. I Was disappointed when we asked about other foods,.... she didn't offer to change our orders to something other then what was on the Pub menu, but other guests inside and out were enjoying....Unless they change things, WE WILL NOT Return and We will tell other's DO NOT waste YOUR time and money -Very Disappointed and was ashamed to have brought friends to the place after raving how good...

Unfortunately there is not "no star" option because this place does not deserve even one star. My first experience at this pub was not the greatest. We went there because a friend of mine recommended it since she lives in the neighborhood. While the food was Ok I thought the service was poor. We were a group of moms with kids on a summer weekday afternoon. The place was nearly empty, maybe one more table beside us. The waitresses seemed annoyed to having to serve us and one of them made a rude comment about one of the kids standing near the door, not blocking the door or anything, just standing there. Well, now I read a story about a mom who was kicked out of the restaurant because her child was crying, not only that but the owner was a total jerk handling the situation, and even suggesting that families with kids should go to McDonalds. It is appalling to hear something like this. Burlington is a family-oriented city and this behavior should not be tolerated in any place really. We are a family of 4 and will definitely not be going there ever again. McDonalds is on our list for sure, as are other pubs in the city that offer not only great food and great service for everybody...
