Had a deplorable experience with Jessica (who was not our waitress and quite frankly don’t know what her role was/is since she did not introduce herself). after being the only two people occupying the entire restaurant for 3 hours before it started to fill was rudely interrupted while taking a dire call from local surgeon (we are out of town guests staying at hotel next door waiting for life affirming/ending diagnostics ). And told to take the call outside as it was disruptive to two older senile ladies on the other side of the restaurant. Considering we could not hear our surgeon on the call. It’s unlikely it had any reach to disrupt anyone opposite the establishment. It certainly wasn’t bothering the one table directly behind us. Their approach can only be chopped up to immaturatoty. Lack of empathy, zero awareness and beyond sub standard customer service. When asking to speak to the manager. Received a weak apology masking excuses. And no action to mitigate the situation as the very customers complaining approached us agitated and hostile while at our table discussing the matter with management. The encounter left us traumatized and feeling completely unsafe. Only to be confronted by Jessica during our exit to poignantly refuse to accept her role in this matter nor apologize for not taking the time to manage the patron concerns with any finesse with the excise that we had two glasses of wine that they sold us in their restaurant, As if were our fault and belligerent and under the influence. Complete lack of customer care and safety And add fuel to a fire we never created or wanted to be a part of. Too bad. We liked the initial waitress Riley. She was awesome! And in no way does this review reflect her professionalism. Will never forget this heinous dehumanizing experience and will never frequent this place again. Sadly a true testament to the times we are living in. Unqualified workers acquiescing to anyone’s feelings despite taking time to navigate and see if the complaint matched ...

I’ve been to this specific Bin4 location multiple times and never have I faced any issues with the food quality or the service. However, today the host was extremely rude and the manager on duty (Jessica) was belittling, rude and judgemental.

Our group of 6 and a 1 year old baby went in for happy hour. We got a text at 9:22 pm to reserve our table. The host (lady with red hair) told us initially the wait time was 45min to an hour. The restaurant was busy and we were okay to wait the time. 45mins passed and we went to ask for an update and we were told 15mins and we will be able to be seated. An hour and 10mins passed and we are still not seated. I went to ask for an update from the host. She said “to be fair, we’ve only kept you 10mins past the 1 we told you initially.” I was very shocked and taken back by the response and decided to walk away. I did let the group know that and I mentioned that it was the worst service I’ve seen.

After an hour and 20mins of waiting, we were finally seated. A server came to us and took our order with an attitude. 2 mins later we were rudely interrupted by the manager Jessica who accused us of calling the host “stupid” and other mean things. I let her know that no one in the group said such thing to the host or the server but Jessica kept on interrupting me as I was explaining the situation. All she provided us with was excuses and no apology for the hostess comment.

We are very disappointed and upset by how we were treated by the manager and her accusations. I understand that it was a busy night but that is part of the job, it should not be an excuse to treat any of your customers in such a horrible way and leave them with a negative experience.

A restaurant’s success depends not just on the food but also on how customers are treated. Unfortunately this experience has left us with a negative impression and we sincerely hope the management takes steps to improve how they handle customer concerns...

I was excited to try the new location after loving Bin 4 in Victoria, however, both my husband and I left being very underwhelmed. I ordered from the Dine Out menu (deep fried pickles, the bistro burger and the coconut chocolate mousse), and my husband ordered a feature burger, risk it for the brisket.

The deep fried pickles were breaded well but unfortunately they really overdid the amount of blackened spice- I could only barely eat one pickle, a light dusting of seasoning would have been so much better.

The bistro chicken burger… I was so disappointed. The balsamic onion jam was good but there was way too much of it. The chicken breast was dry and the cheese barely melted. The fries are nothing spectacular.

The coconut chocolate mousse was not mousse consistency at all, it was more like a super super thick pudding. Other than that, the flavour was pretty good.

When I think brisket, I think fatty, moist and delicious. My husband’s brisket burger was sooo dry, he had to keep dousing it in ketchup. Such a let down and this is a higher priced burger at $21.50.

Our server was nice enough but service was quite slow. I don’t know if she was to blame for that or the kitchen.

The onion rings and wild mushroom gravy (extra charge for both) are both amazingly delicious and were the best parts of our whole meal… which says something when this is a burger place.

Our bill came to $85 total (we each had a drink too) before tip and we felt it was a waste of money… we won’t be back except for maybe possibly a 50% off deal that they do every day after 9pm.

*update: management reached out to me and offered to try to make things right, so I have adjusted my rating. They sent a $30 gift card which honestly, I think should have been more. However, I appreciate the effort to give us a better experience and I will return at least once more to see if service and quality...

A solid 4. Bin 4 started by a couple from Victoria, now 7 locations in BC. 2 in GVRD. Fairly successful, they must be doing something right. It is located in the limb of Accent Inn amongst the strip mall/ low rise office buildings along Henning Drive. Ambience of the interior is a bit of Cactus Club cafe and Milestones. "Modern" westcoast style. Comfortable and welcoming. Fellow Yelp Elites recommend the post 9 PM and Happy Hour special offerings with 50% discount. We went with the Dine Out offering, pretty much on par pricing with their regular menu a 35$/ person not including sides and sauces (extra). Our waitress was a cleverish lady who upsold us sides and dipping sauce without telling us they are outside of the dineout pricing. Not great. Food wise for me anyways, was a mix bag. Liked the deep fried pickles. The Big Spenny (waygu beef) was very dry and without any dressing until the second half of the burger. Also the burger was charred and dry on parts of the burger, the other was juicy and delicious. The taste profile was well designed but it was poorly cooked. Finally the mousse, again. batch made and sat for an extensive period of time, the mousse was no longer light and fluffy, instead super dense. The waitress said during the special HH and 9 pm deals, the burgers are 1/2 size so we didn't miss out as we got the "regular" size. At this point I found her to be so shifty, I don't I believe her. My waygu burger's patty is the half thickness of the mushroom burger my companion had. Whatever. Overall, this comes close to GRB's (which IMO is the best in town). Flavour and ambiance are both competitive but execution lack rigour. But their pricing is also 10% less.

Extremely Disappointing Experience I visited this restaurant with high expectations, as the server, Tinna, was very nice and provided excellent guidance throughout. However, the food—specifically the burger—fell completely short of expectations. I ordered the "The Big Dipper," and while it looked visually appealing, the first bite was utterly disappointing. Despite the use of Brant Lake Wagyu Beef, the patty was dry, overcooked, and flavorless. Honestly, it was the driest burger I've had in the past 10 years living in Metro Vancouver—worse even than a day-old burger from Wendy's. It was so dry that I couldn't believe it had just been cooked. The situation only worsened when a male staff member, who appeared to be the manager, came over—not to apologize, but to offer an explanation. He cited BC regulations, claiming that burger patties must be cooked to medium-well. However, what I received wasn't even medium-well—it was overcooked to the point of being inedible. He also insisted that the burger looked "juicy" to him, which was absurd. If this was the result of following regulations, then I wonder how other burger restaurants manage to serve juicy patties while adhering to the same rules. In the end, the male manager waived the charge for the burger, but he offered no apology—just excuses. I have to ask: was this burger truly worth selling? Was it something to be proud of? This meal completely ruined my evening. In the 30 minutes we spent at the restaurant, the only thing I managed to eat was the truffle fries. This was an incredibly disappointing experience. If this is the standard for the burgers and service at this establishment, I will not be returning to Bin4.
