Subway — Restaurant in Vancouver

i stopped to get a sandwich here last night. i walked in to see the entire counter for sandwich building covered with scraps and sauces from previous sandwich builds. i asked the sandwich maker why it was so messy, he said he just made a big order. what's interesting is that he was in the back area when i walked in instead of cleaning up the previous mess he made, which is an obvious indication of his standards.

he procceded to place a piece of paper overtop of the messy counter and open the bread i ordered with a dirty knife. i was ready to walk out but i was hungry enough to allow him to finish.

after he built my sandwich i asked if he could use a clean sandwich paper for the wrap, which is usually how sandwiches get packed. he argued that i wanted two papers completely ignoring that he was working on unclean surfaces. i told him i don't want dirty paper with my sandwich. so he wraps my sandwich in just the outer wrapper.

i paid, took photos of the messy sandwich cutting boards, and left. this guy either needs discilplinary action or to be fired for lack of clean standards.

Extremely awkward interaction. For a 24 hour service subway I feel like you should expect customers to come in 24 hours of course . I just got off work so decided to drop in and get a sandwich . First thing im told is in only allowed cold , which is fine as that’s what I was craving but I don’t think you should have a 24 hour sandwich place where most of the things, and as I know some NEED to be heated , told I cannot get . Anyways as I was getting a tuna sandwich I’ve never felt so pushed nor awkward to get my sandwich done. I honestly didn’t even get it made as I wanted because he clearly made me feel like he wanted me out . Whoever was working at 2:30 am at this location should really work on customer service as that’s literally the job they’re doing. 10/10 not...

Tried out the new brisket sandwich, it was surprisingly good! Sort of expensive for a sandwich but it was very filling.

I feel like I got my money's worth though because the employee absolutely stacked my sandwich with brisket.I still prefer the steak sandwich because I think it is better value.

Also I had them toast the sandwich but the centre was still cold which I didn't like. I think they should toast the brisket sandwiches for longer considering it would be harder to heat than steak (which have always been nice and hot)
