Chatime Bubble Tea — Restaurant in Burnaby

SCAM and STINGY Franchisee location. Scamming customers of earned free drinks.

Been going to this location for past few years and I have spent quite a bit of money to earn free drinks. Oct 23, 2020 visited this Royal Oak location and had 7 free large drinks on my Chatime loyalty app. I ask redeem 2 free drinks which I have done numerous times at this location and other locations.

"Sorry, only one free drink per transaction". So I ask for separate orders, but they won't do it.

"Go to the back of the line (which is now 10+ people long) and we'll see what we can do and maybe you can order again". I ask what's the difference with doing that and just doing two separate transactions. No response.

"Sorry, we only allow 1 free drink per visit". I ask to see this policy and then did it start, they can't answer. "Other locations are following an old policy and this a new policy. I can't override since the manager isn't here".

This is the last straw. So I get the free drink and leave. Asked for no ice and of course there is ice. Never going to this location again and I tell them that which they could care less. This is how you treat your loyal members who have spent hundreds of dollars in your store. In the past, I've been charged extra for toppings and for large free drinks at this same location. They allow me to redeem a medium and pay extra to upsize to large when the app shows I'm entitled to free large drink with one topping. They even wouldn't redeem my free birthday drink at this location. Such a cheap franchisee who won't honour Chatime's standards....

Probably one of my favorite bubble tea shops in Vancouver. My go to drink used to be the one everyone gets (roasted grassjelly milk tea) but now that I found their Assam milk tea that is my go to drink. Now I'm one of those people who don't like any sugar in their milk tea so I get it with no sugar, no ice and with pearls. Since the pearls are sitting in syrup and they use condensed milk powder to make their drinks there's enough sweetness in the drink to make it delicious! With no ice it doesn't dilute my drink anymore as it melts although when the weather gets hot you kinda need it to keep your drink cool. I definitely reccomend downloading their app so you can order and pay ahead then you don't have to wait in line. The best part of this place is that you can customize each drink but that means everyone is doing that and the line gets pretty long and who likes to wait? Downloading the app and registering lets you collect points for free drinks and also a free birthday drink on the week of your birthday as well so another...

feel like this location is no longer good. it was good at beginning. but so far my past few experiences have been bad. the last visit, we ordered hot drink and the staff sealed it with plastic seal. plastic seals are unsafe for hot drinks since they are toxic. I told the staff that didn't make sense so they removed seal and in same cup put lid cover as they should have in the beginning. I told the staff the lid isn't secure since the cup is damaged and it will leak. staff insisted that it was fine. it spilled on both of us and i took the cup back to the staff to show them. instead of correcting their own mistake or replacing our drink, they did nothing. I think it's still good location to go to but best to tell the staff what to do and how you want the drink. don't try to correct the staff since they are defensive so you will just be wasting your time. also people bring their outside food like fried chicken and other. if you dun mind the smell of outside food, then you will be ok otherwise, i recommend go...
