Habitat Pub — Restaurant in Burnaby

Went here to celebrate with a few classmates after an exam. We had a couple beers each, paid, and left. The bartender literally ran us down in the alley shining his phone light in our eyes and recording us, yelling that we would be going to jail for drinking and driving... no cars in sight and followed us halfway across campus.

The scene he caused attracted the attention of three guys who came over and started getting aggressive, getting in our faces and pushing us, all the while accusing us of drinking and driving. Still no cars in sight. These guys were clearly looking for a fight. So what does the bartender do with the situation that he caused? He runs off into the darkness, tail between his legs, to leave us with these violent thugs.

One of these guys followed us all the way off campus yelling racial slurs and saying he was going to "smash my white skull in" and assaulted us in the street by BCAA.

So well done bartender. Not only did you fail to prevent drinking and driving, you caused a physical assault in the streets. An attack that you didn't even have the decency to stick around for and catch on film while you were out playing policeman and harassing paying customers. Nope. The only thing you prevented was people enjoying themselves and getting home safely. Proud of yourself?

Oh, and the waitress forgot to put our order into the kitchen so it took an hour and a half to get lunch....

Terrible Service and Deceptive Practices

My experience at this place was incredibly disappointing. The waitress, sporting purple hair, was consistently rude and unhelpful throughout our visit.

When we attempted to place our order, she rolled her eyes and made us wait an excruciating 25 minutes before taking our order. Despite having a $50 gift card and a $41 meal total, she adamantly refused to allow us to use the remaining balance for another item.

After discovering a $7 brownie that fit within the remaining balance, she falsely claimed it would be $2 over due to tax. However, after recalculating, it was evident that the brownie was still within the gift card's limit.

To top it off, when the brownie finally arrived, it was missing the ice cream that was supposed to accompany it. This level of service is unacceptable.

I hope this review serves as a warning to others considering dining here. The management needs to address their staff's behavior and ensure that guests are treated with respect...

Popped by here after attending an info session for somebody else's future program to watch the hockey game. I originally wanted to order the feature 'pulled duck tacos' but sadly they were sold out of that, so I opted for the fish tacos instead.Price for the tacos were reasonable and it was good to have. They had a few beer specials which wasn't too bad, either. We sat at the bar with great viewing point to watch the game on the big screen or the flat screen TVs on both side of us. They have pool tables and a couple of arcade games. I would have a lot of fun here if I was a student after long days of class/project work.
