Nestled in the former spot of Sushi Town, a beloved community staple, Nemo Sushi Bar brings a breath of fresh air with its brand-new, sleek, and slightly futuristic atmosphere. The welcoming design, which retains a sense of familiarity while introducing modern touches, makes it a perfect spot for both long-time fans and new visitors. Service at Nemo Sushi Bar is top-notch, with every staff member sporting a big smile. The attentive and helpful servers ensure that you never feel lost or forgotten. Despite the restaurant’s newness and lack of specific recommendations, their warmth and dedication make you feel genuinely welcomed and loved. The culinary experience begins delightfully with the gomae, a spinach salad dressed in sesame butter or oil, bursting with flavor. The spicy tuna roll is a highlight, delivering a perfect balance of heat and taste. The crunchy dynamite roll, featuring a surprise element of yam tempura, adds an almost Italian twist with its crunchy bits reminiscent of arancini breadcrumbs. Although the sriracha mayo didn’t suit my personal taste, it’s a classic touch that will likely appeal to the North Burnaby palate. To end the meal on a high note, the Tempura ice cream was an absolute treat. It was almost like eating little cream puffs of joy, adorned with dark chocolate drizzle and almond slivers, making for a perfect, sweet conclusion to the dining experience. In conclusion, Nemo Sushi Bar not only rejuvenates a cherished location but also elevates the dining experience with its excellent service and delectable dishes. It’s a promising new favorite in the making.

Was excited to see Sushi Town get replaced by a new place as I love trying different sushi places! The interior is definitely nicer and feels more elegant, however my experience wasn't too wowing. The waitresses were nice, however I did feel rushed as one of the waitresses seemed annoyed that I wasn't ready to order. I had a hard time deciding what to order as the menu felt repetitive and definitely on the pricier side. Most of the special rolls were about $18 and alot of then were cucumber, crab meat, avocado and prawn tempera on the inside but topped with something different, I couldn't justify paying $18 per roll to have pretty much a slightly different variation of the same roll. We ordered the Atlantic salmon sashimi, a house roll and the salmon mountain roll. The sashimi was good, it was very fresh and probably the dish I liked the most The house roll was alright, I felt like it was way too big, but that is more of my preference. The rice ratio was a little bit too much but again, that is my preference. The salmon mountain roll was alright as well, rice ratio was better but the roll didn't wow me. The crispy yam bits on top were very tasty though. One thing I noticed about both rolls is the crab meat. I felt like the quality of the crab meat is similar to sushi you would get at Safeway or the sushi from Costco which was a little off-putting for me. Overall, the food wasn't terrible but I do find it quite pricey compared to other restaurants that have similar rolls.

From 5 Stars to 1 Star I had to rewrite my original 5-star review after my most recent (and final) visit. This was my 4th time ordering from here, but this time I got takeout—and it was a major disappointment. Look at the photos I attached: one from my first visit, and the other from this recent order. The difference in quality is shocking. Does it look like I ordered from same restaurant? The donkatsu was disgusting—tasted like boiled pork, and the breading was completely separated and soggy. The salmon was sticky, slimy, and had the unmistakable texture of being frozen and poorly thawed. Totally unappetizing. Seriously, what happened here? Has the kitchen staff changed? This food is nowhere near the standard I experienced before. And they’re charging $20+ for this? It’s honestly unacceptable. It feels like they just don’t care anymore or don’t expect customers to return—because I certainly won’t. First review: This place is my new favorite sushi restaurant in the city. The sushi is outstanding, and the katsu is also excellent. However, the ramen was disappointing—it had an off-putting smell, possibly similar to boar taint. While the food deserves a 5/5, the service could definitely use some improvement.

I was a customer here and we love the food and the staff working who serve really great and exceptional. Kudos to servers. My disappointment happened last night after a manager rejected me even before i tell her i wanted to order (to go) and not dine in, she told me they are closed and they have cut off time, it was only 9:10 and they close at 9:30, i left the place with this very bad experience, i have never met that lady manager ever since i was dining here before, but this will be the last time i am stepping foot into this place. The most exceptional service provided last night was from their neighboring sushi place about 800m away, i called and the owner told me they are about to close but he said he will wait for me,at the last minute before the sushi place closes, they welcomed me and served me well with my to go order. I will leave a separate review to the sushi place i ended up being serviced well and the sushi is so savoury and fresh. Plus the service is good and no one can match the service they can provide even if you come at the last minute. Btw i used to be your regular customer but this neighboring sushi place is my first ever visit with them and they welcomed and accomdated me like a patron of their house, You lost one customer as i am happy now with the new sushi place I am dining in. I hope you can do better. Thank you for the bad experience last night! I found a gem out of it. I will never go back...
