So many delicious treats available at One Stop Bakery (was Ray's previously). Love their chicken rolls (and sausage rolls), ham and cheese croissants, large bran muffins, cheese buns, bread, squares and slices. All very tasty and fresh served up by super friendly awesome folks. They really look after you and they honestly care that you are happy with what they offer. They have pride in what they do - and for good reason. Last week we had a small gathering of 7 persons to attend and I decided to bring dessert. My wife suggested we try a cake from One Stop so I went on-line and looked at the many options available and decided to try the 8" Biscoff Nutella cake but was worried that it might be too sweet. I called the day prior to the event to order and when I expressed my concerns about sweetness she suggested that we ask that they make the cake with less sweetness. Simple enough and all I can say is this cake was a hit!! Multiple persons pronounced it the best cake they had ever eaten. Truly outstanding and more than a little addictive. The icing was like buttercream blended with whipping cream, the layers of cake dense and moist, delicious slightly crunchy and chewy bits that hid sonewhere in the mix to add wonderful texture and a celebratory feel. Not too sweet at all and everyone agreed that one of the best things about it was it was not too sweet or cloying. The Biscoff biscuits themselves were crisp with thst hint of spice which really brought the whole cake together. Absolutely delicious!! My apologies for going on about it but sometimes ya...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA big disappointment in both price and taste. I ordered a vegan cake, and unfortunately, it did not meet expectations. The frosting had a strong taste of vegetable oil, which was unpleasant, and the cake itself was overly sweet, masking any real flavor. What was even more concerning was the hygiene ā I saw the owner handling the cake with bare hands while packing it, which was very off-putting. For the price I paid, I expected much better quality and professionalism. Definitely not ordering again!!
Response to the Ownerās Reply to My Original Review/
I'm not sure if you dislike people using AI or simply sharing their true experiences. For that matter, your response itself sounds like it came from AI. To clarify, I originally called to ask for an eggless cake and ended up ordering a vegan one based on the staff's suggestion ā which was completely my decision, so I have no complaints about that. When I arrived, I asked again for an eggless cake, and the staff/owner corrected me, so that part is settled. However, "no milk" shouldnāt mean the cake tastes oily. Other vegan bakery products donāt taste like that. Also, what about the excessive sugar? I appreciate that you claim to have high standards, but when the staff/owner didnāt apologize and instead said, āWe wash our hands regularly,ā I honestly didnāt know how to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been here a couple times as it's close to my house. I enjoyed the tuxedo cake and the cream filled long john was really yummy. I took off a star as I was a bit disappointed with the cinnamon rolls and the lemon muffin. The cinnamon rolls were definitely either frozen and thawed or made a couple days ago. They were better once microwaved and had good flavour but I was a little sad that they were hard and I needed to microwave them to eat them. The lemon muffin had a bit of a weird consistency when eating it as it was a bit gummy which was disappointing as I love lemon and was stoked on the concept of a lemon muffin. I'll definitely go back and give them another try as I enjoyed a couple of items and the shop smelled so good. Just wish the cinnamon rolls were fresher as they could be really good! Seems like a popular place as it was...
