Boogie's Burgers is a Renfrew staple. The first time I visited was 15 years ago. 8 of us made a birthday visit for our recent visit, and the menu was as enticing then as it is now. There are enough options for everybody, but not too many. My 3 year old loved the mini corn dog, and the shakes were delicious. The Fat Vader was really good (chocolate, licorice, and bacon) though I would probably stick with the Young Vader (sans the bacon). My only real suggestion would be lids on the shakes; the cups are a tad weak walled and we had a few spillage issues. This would be a 5 star review as the service was superb (one of the staff assisting us could count to 9! š) as they were friendly, attentive, and fun. The lack of the final star was from the burgers themselves. They look amazing/slightly intimidating; the burgers are big and bursting with toppings. The biggest knock is they were just missing that one thing to push them over the top. I had the Keith Burger, and it was loaded with two patties, bacon out the wazoo, grilled onions and other burger staples. It had a good base of flavour, but both it and the Sam could have used more salt and pepper. Plus, they are pretty messy and greasy burgs. I am not complaining, but one should be aware. And don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the Keith, but it was a little disappointing. Prices are reasonable and the menu is very family friendly. My two burger eating children enjoyed their Pizza burgers and the onion rings, yam fries, and especially the Totine (poutine tater tots) were real highlights. If you want a tasty burger and a great shake with the sides to add that extra level, Boogie's Burgers should be your next stop. Highly recommend. Note: Dine in seating was unavailable as the place was packed. Thankfully our party of eight was able to enjoy the outdoor picnic table seating, and with our spilling issues, probably...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo, I got a hankering for a burger and fries for din, and decided to stop in at Boogies (been there many times). Parking lot was full so I thought this will be relatively quick so I parked in the ally. My wife and dog decided to wait in the car. This was 6 pm. I ordered right away, person who took my order was very pleasant. Some people were waiting, along with Doordash, Skip etc. I ordered a Mak with bacon and a small fries to go. Ok, no problem....I soon noticed that there were customers ahead of me that were waiting for their take out, also some tables that were waiting for their food. Ok, patience ...it is dinner time. At around 45 minutes of waiting, I was getting nervous that my order was forgotten. I finally got my order almost 1 HOUR from when I ordered!! My wife was mad, I was mad, my dog was mad! For a bloody simple burger and fries!! Now I really don't expect anything, but there was no apology, no sorry it took so long, no sorry we were 1 cook down. Just "do you want ketchup?" I left shaking my head at the lack of customer service. A solution before I ordered would to mention that we are very busy and this will take up to 1hr. If i've known this, I would of just went home (which was a 1/2 hr drive!) So with all of this, I will not visit your business and spend my dollars with you. Oh, please take down that sign! WAITING TIME 10-15 MINUTES!!! PS The fries were...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBoogie's Burgers is in one of those blink-and-you'll-miss-it places that is easy to overlook, on Edmonton Trail. Arrived there just before the lunchtime rush, got a table easily and was greeted by friendly staff. Ordering was painless, and the food excellent. A wide range of burgers is available, including a number of vegetarian options. Given the food combinations, this is not a place to calorie-count! That's not a criticism, but hey, you're visiting a burger joint, right?
I ordered the Keith's burger with fries and onion rings. The burger was enormous, coming with a knife. Excellent flavours, a substantial burger, and possibly the best onion rings I have ever had. Fries were pretty much what you would expect, which is to say, good.
Atmosphere was good, and the staff brisk. Nobody seemed to be waiting in the lineup for too long. Quirky 70s decor and arcade games combined to make this a good place to drop in and eat. Tables outside would make waiting on a day like this quite pleasant. Only thing to watch for is that the parking lot is fairly small, so you might have to park elsewhere - not a huge hardship.
Looking forward to my next visit, when I've burned these calories off! In summary, a great place to eat, with lots of options, and a whole bunch of milkshakes which I didn't...
