After reading several amazing reviews about Bow River Vietnamese, we decided to finally give it a try and what a strange experience. While the food was good, it's hard to not have a clouded judgement after finding a whole fingernail in my coffee. I'm in disbelief that this could even occur and after bringing it to the servers attention she couldn't even believe it was possible since it was not one of her nails. She took the coffee off the bill - jeeze thanks - and we paid and left. There was no one there working to talk to us or help us out other than the server who was clearly not trained to deal with any situation like this. I called the restaurant later in the day asking for a manager and they were well aware of the situation and agreed I should be escalating this but no manager was available to chat then either. I have since left a message to have someone call me to rectify this but have yet to hear back from anyone. I don't even know how this was possible but here are photos for those interested in seeing. It has now been over 48 hours and I havent heard anything back from anyone reguarding...
Read moreHospital Emergency Room was the result of our visit Friday June 3, 2022. I asked, and was told several times, that there was no sesame or peanut in my order. Shrimp salad rolls with fish sauce. I ate 1 salad roll. 45 minutes later I was at the Rockyview General Hospital with a team of 4 medical professionals keeping my airway open. My husband returned to the restaurant with a picture of myself in recovery. The proprietor denied there was any allergens and instead said I must have eaten off of my husband's plate. He then proceeded to tell my husband there was another guest who also almost died as a result of eating there. Then he told my husband it wasn't his problem. DO NOT EAT HERE. Many Vietnamese restaurants cater to people like myself with allergies........all of them so far, except here. I will be filing a formal complaint with Alberta Health Services. If you are a restaurant and cannot accommodate people like myself, that's no problem. We understand and happily appreciate your candor and will go elsewhere. But know, this is actually LIFE OR...
Read moreWe were hungry for some Vietnamese food and wanted to eat what was in the area, so Bow River Restaurant showed up when we did our search. It had some great reviews so we thought we would check it out. The bathroom was very clean and so was the restaurant ( we always wash our hands before eating and it's an opportunity to get a feel of the restaurant before ordering.) We were happy with the service and the quality of food. Everything arrived promptly along with some hot tea (you have to request it at other restaurants) and we were extremely pleased with the taste and presentation. The pork chops we ordered was delicious and very tender from being marinated instead of being a skimpy portion and dry as we had experienced at other restaurants. The owner was friendly and polite as well as attentive which doesn't happen often. Overall, we were happy we came and we will...
