Cedars Deli — Restaurant in Calgary

I am writing to you about Cedars Deli MacLeod Trail( Heritage)branch. We are not new to Cedars Deli main branch. The owner of the restaurant is a great person but unfortunately he has sold franchises to people who don't know how to run a business or treat their customers. So we went to this branch at MacLeod trail and despite of having a few not very good experiences before we thought to give it a one more try hoping they might have improved over the course of time. But to our utter disappointment the food was even worse. The chicken was hard,burnt and like plastic. The beef pieces were burnt,dry and cold. We went to the staff straightaway and complained. Instead of listening to us, both employees(1 Filipino and the other Syrian) started arguing with us. They refused to admit that the meat was hard. We told them we can't chew it and the reason they gave us was that we couldn't chew it because we didn't put sauce on it.. like seriously? We left the food in the plate at the counter. They didn't bother to replace it or even refund us the amount that we paid  $28 i.e a lot for a meal for 2 people. On top of that both guys were rude, disrespectful and arrogant. When I told them you should keep your customers happy the Filipino guy said he doesn't care if I don't come back. I regret going back there for the last time ever and wasting my money and then get humiliated. Please stay away from this...

I’ve been coming to this Cedars Deli for the past three months almost every day for lunch, it’s that good. I decided to check the reviews and to my surprise, there were a few negative ones.

To those that are saying it’s not “true” Mediterranean food, are you blind? Their saying is literally, “A taste of the Mediterranean.” Every single culture's food has been Americanized to be able to sell to picky eaters. Do you think Chinese food in Canada is the same in China? Not at all. YOU pick the toppings and sauce yourself, so you have no excuse to complain about certain things not being authentic.

“They’re rude”. Could it be because they’re understaffed and having to deal with rude Uber drivers barking at them? Or could it be that you complain about the sauce that’s on it… that you asked for? These guys are hard workers and have to deal with a lot, be kind and in return, they’ll treat you with respect.

Usually love coming here but today i went in and it was horrible. Do not let the girl that works there make your wrap, she does not give you the proper amount of meat or veggies or anything for your money.This is the second time she has done this to me. Not worth it at all, i paid $12 for a regular with the amount of meat that's on a small. It was pathetic. Such a rip off and id advise if you go, refuse to let her make your wrap. Worst service from her, the filipino guy does a great job and is the reason I come back as he does a proper job. So head's up to whoever the owner is.... your losing customer's...
