Absolutely horrible. This isn't pizza, let alone Chicago pizza. It's overpriced, inauthentic, underseasoned dreck.
There's nothing "Chicago" about this pizza. It's poorly-executed Sicilian pizza with a bland crust, cheap sauce and cheese, and lower-quality toppings than Little Caesars, Domino's, or Pizza Hut, for over twice the price.
Despite the owner's delusions of grandeur about this being authentic, if this place opened in Chicago, it would probably cause a riot and be out of business in a 48 hours, after some much-deserved looting. I would bet that nobody at this store has ever eaten Lou's, Gino's, or even any of the hundreds of chain Uno's pizza restaurants in or around Chicago.
If they had, they'd know that in comparison, their crust is bland and completely wrong, their sauce is mediocre, the toppings are objectively worse than any chain pizza place (pepperoni, especially) and there aren't nearly enough of them to justify the cost. In Chicago, a $30 pizza comes completely filled with meat and cheese. Not even close here.
Despite the owner's condescending responses and emotional sensitivity to accurate criticism, it does not resemble Chicago pizza in any way and is barely edible. Anger is justified at 30 dollars of false advertising and blandness, but telling customers they shouldn't be angry at your garbage pizza isn't generally the way to go about addressing that concern.
"You stand by your product?" Don't. That's the problem. You can think it's authentic or passable all you want, it's not. It wasn't authentic in 1985 and it's not now.
Would never buy again. Would never recommend. Should not...
Read moreNew to the province and decided to try 3 of the deep dish pizzas, Hawaiian, pepperoni, and meat lovers, along with a baked spaghetti. All was SO delicious. Nothing like we have ever had previously in BC. Pasta sauce was flavorful and hearty, garlic toast was delicious and buttery, the pizza was cheesy and ooey gooey yummy with tons of toppings. It also arrived HOT which may sound like something obvious but is not common at all for the pizza options in our previous city. Only "downside" was there was no deals it seemed so it was very expensive for 3 pizzas and a pasta, however, it did give us leftovers for 5 days and that's with two boys both with bottomless pits for stomachs, overall this was well worth the price and we will definitely be ordering from them again. Even on day 5, the reheated pizza...
Read moreThe only reason there is a star, at all, for this review is because I'm forced to put one to write this. Not only is this one of the most expensive pizza delivery services in Calgary, but it's one of the actual worst pizza places to GET that pizza from. They give alot of toppings because alot of those toppings are old and about to expire. Ordering from here, you have at least an hour before the pizza is even put in the oven, they'll tell you it's on the way when the driver doesn't have it, all for the low price of twice the amount of any local pizza place. There's so much grease from the moldy cheese they send you on the box it's flammable. Chicken 'wings', if you can call them that, are sent raw. Save your money and your body and NEVER ORDER ANYTHING HERE. EVER....
