I have been a loyal customer of this location for almost a decade. I have often come in to purchase almost everything from loaves to their sweet apple twist deserts to scones (which have shrunk over the years, while the price went up) Danishes, croissants and everything in between. With the shut downs due to the pandemic, I didn’t go as often as I used to but still would come in to purchase many items for a treat now and again. As mentioned I have been loyal to this location for almost a decade and have even dealt with the owner, Alex for school and hockey fundraisers and he was awesome. I have amassed a collection of stamp cards that I saved should I want to splurge on a nice hearty loaf. I went in to redeem one of the 2 cards with several other items I had and was immediately shut down by Yvonne who claimed she was the manager, and she would not take the card and if she were that she would lose money and that I now need the app in order to redeem anything, which I had recently downloaded but not enough points were accumulated. Having been overseas since August and coming back during this next wave of the pandemic I had not been anywhere let alone Cobs to know this program was phased out and that December 31 was the last day to use the stamp cards. In fact, I was told o go to another location because each franchise owner can set their own rules, too bad so sad. I let Yvonne know I had dealt with Alex on several occasions in the past and if she could make an exception as I was not even in the country and I didn’t even know the cards were phased out and it was less than 2 weeks since then. I had several items on the counter ready to purchase and she still said no and to go to another location because she will be losing money and if I came in so often I should have used them; again, I was overseas. I know what isn’t sold would be donated anyway, so I don't know how she would be losing money when any leftovers will not be sold and likely written off. So I left my purchases on the counter and I took her advice and I drove to the sage hill location which I do visit on occasion since my sister lives in the area and they happily gave my free loaf and accepted the stamp card, no questions asked and no hassles! I ended up buying about $40 worth of goodies, plus my free apricot loaf. I will now drive out of my way to the sage hill location. Losing a long time customer over a $5 loaf of bread is a shame. I will always support small business but it’s a two way streak too, treat your customers well and you will have a...
Read moreI have been a costumer of this Cobs bread location for many years. My children and I always enjoy stopping in to grab a treat when we head to the zoo or just to enjoy with friends for our dessert on at family dinners. Through the covid stuff we have still gone in with no issues (we are mask exempt due to medical issues and have dr notes and all) every other time we or I have gone in they ask about masks and I just explain were exempt and that's it. However today when I went in was the worst experience ever, the staff started helping, not even noticing I was not wearing a mask at first. Then when she did notice, she said so, I said same thing as I always do that I'm medically exempt and today she told me it doesnt matter. And I said it has never been an issue... then the manager stepped in and said the government would shut them down because I was in there without a mask and then 2 costumers stepped in and the staff never even said anything while 1 of the customers contonued to verbally attack me. I left as it was not worth it. And I will absolutely never go back! The staff never supported me and allowed another customer to verbally bully me with other customers watching as...
Read moreI love Cob’s Bread. We usually buy at the 130th SE and Mahogany locations where the staffs are just lovely. But we just moved recently and yesterday was my first time buying at this location and oh boy was so disappointed. One particular staff who looks like a shift leader or something was extremely rude. I understand that we are doing all the necessary precautions against Covid, but, in my opinion, there are ways to be stern without being rude. Me and my son went there yesterday around 5pm, we waited outside as told by the staff since there were already three people in the store. We were not wearing masks (i cannot find the box of masks I bought you know when you just moved and all your stuff are all over the place) but asked the staff if we could get some (I know they provide masks I’ve been to their other locations many times). They gave us masks. As I was tying the mask for my son the cashier asked me how I am, I told her I am well and this rude staff just interrupted and rudely told me to put my mask on before even talking. Like seriously is that even necessary? So rude...
