Dragon's Lair Burger — Restaurant in Calgary

I had such a disappointing experience at this place yesterday. the blonde girl taking orders was super rude and clearly had no clue about proper hand hygiene. Right after giving the previous customer their change, she went straight to the grill and started cooking the burger patties - disgusting! I also caught her staring at me twice, which was uncomfortable. The girl with black hair was a little better, but she still had hygiene issues. While making my burgers, she handed another customer some ketchup packets without bothering to change her gloves. And let's be real, when people restock things like that, they're usually using bare hands, so who knows if they were clean. Both girls were chitchatting, and the one making my burgers got distracted. She wrapped one of my burgers without adding the ingredients I asked for, then wrapped it and used the same wrap that was already covered in sauce. By the time I got home, the burger looked so unappetizing. The staff needs proper training, especially around food hygiene. Handwashing is basic when you're handling food, and unfortunately, that standard was not met here. Burgers are good here as they are not the typical fast food ones. The patties are tender and juicy beef paired with grilled mushroom and sauce of your choice plus fries, a good filling meal.

Wish they had grilled the bread a little as it was cold when you bite into them only the patty was hot inside the bun and it feels kinda funky when you chew it the hot and cold mixing together in your mouth. With the drinks, they offer a fountain drink but they humbly request you can only refill once which is fair enough as you will get full with the big burger anyways.

Resto is kinda old as with the mall itself but probably could improve if maintained. Employees are busy with their work plus juggling the online order as well and serving the customers waiting in line, keep up the good work guys.

Hope they could improve their service as they have good and filling food to offer...

This place wins so many awards, I was hoping for better. I didn't have a burger, just a poutine. I think that is a perfectly fair and great item to judge food place on. Mediocre Mark's.

Not in the fresh fries categories. So frozen. But a pretty good version of frozen fries.

Not real gravy, certainly no animal drippings in the there. Doesn't really even taste like there is added old fryer grease in the gravy. Gonna have to say this is low fat, previously powder gravy, but a pretty good version of that.

Almost top mark's for cheese. Of course its missing the wet squeak, that only comes withing the first 1 or 2 days after being made. But I'm happy to report its top notch otherwise.
