My family and I went out for Happy Hour Dinner Last night at 9pm. We got there and it was a seat yourself situation which was fine because it was not busy. We sat down and waited over 10 minutes for someone to even notice us, finally our server named Maddy came over and took our drink order. My father ordered an Ice tea and I ordered a Well Highball rum and coke off of the Happy Hour menu, pointing at is as I order. The drinks came very fast and then she ordered our food. There was nothing wrong with the food, we all quite enjoyed it, it was the service. My father ordered gravy with his meal and we had to ask several times as she forgot to bring it out. By the time the gravy was brought out, the meal was half eaten and the rest of the food was cold. During this time, My father and I were never asked if we wanted another drink or a refill, my father only got one Ice tea and I only was able to order one well Highball off of the happy hour menu. We were also watching our server fill up other customers glasses with ice cold water, but we got a lukewarm pitcher of water. By the time it came for dessert, we sat there for over 20 minutes waiting for our server and she never came. It took us to get up and put our jackets on for the bartender to see we were ready to leave. She fetched our server and she never even asked us if we wanted to have dessert, she just handed us the bill. Looking over the bill I noticed that I was charged $9.50 for my drink when I ordered it off of the happy hour menu for $5. I mentioned this to her and she made three excuses, two of them blaming on me. First she said "You ordered the drink before happy hour" when we were purposely there after happy hour, then she said "It's because you asked for a Captain Morgan rum and coke" which I responded I ordered the well highball rum and coke, I even pointed at it when I ordered. Then she said "We don't have rum and coke well highballs" which I ended the conversation with an okay as I could see this conversation was not going anywhere. We left all with utter disgust. Our bill came to $116.77 with an 18% tip. As a former employee of earls I was extremely disappointed to see this level of service. It felt like our money was not good enough and we were singled out, as everyone else was getting constant service but us. This experience has left a very bad...
Read moreI love Earls, especially for their chicken and ribs.... and even though I can never finish a full order.... I still order it every other time I'm there! LOL I try and visit different locations to compare my experience, and so far, Earls on 130th SE has been the best, both in food preparation and customer service. Not to say this time was worse, so much as it was a bit off pare from my best Earls experience. When I arrived at the restaurant yesterday evening (Tue Feb 19 @ 9pm) There wasn't anyone to greet us.... looked as if staff was off taking care of other matters. After about 3 to 4min a young lady greeted us and asked the usual questions, ect... Once we were seated, the waiter took our full order, after time had passed he had to ask us if we were ready for our main course, even though we were visibly done with our appetizers and drinks. No additional drinks were offered, until I asked, and once our main course came, sides were cold. While enjoying our meal, the staff carried on with their night, It looked as though a cook was giving lessons to other server staff, floor supervisor type staff sat at the cooks bar to complete daily type computer work, as another cook stood by said staff to discuss matters of some other importance, I guess.
Overall, the staff seemed disengage with how the customers were doing, looked as though they just wanted their shifts to end, and the amount of effort put into the food was little to none.
However, in the end I still left a 15% tip and was completely respectful, no complaints from me, this just wasn't my best experience and I'd be more inclined to choose a different location and time frame to enjoy...
Read moreNice ambiance, great service and good quality food. Our server was Chris and he was very attentive and always checking for our needs. It was a pretty busy night so the food took around 30 minutes to come, however, appetizer came in 10 minutes which was pretty good. Three persons bill was $161 which included one starter, meal, three soft drinks, one cheese cake and 18% gratuity..so I would say average $50 a person.
Starter crispy chicken tender was good crispy as name suggests. My daughter and I had Bigger Better Burger as we both are burgers enthusiasts. Bun was great quality, however, the patty was a little dry and the edges were burnt so not sure if it was usually how they make it but it was tasty. It was also on salty side and salt level was also inconsistent too; so if you like an extra salty patty then this is your burger. I will it rate 7 out of 10.
My son got Cajun blackened Sirloin steak medium rare which comes with mashed potatoes, some vegetables and crispy onions. It was on the salty side too and did not taste much of Cajun and just pepper and salt, however, my son liked it.
Our favourite part was the cheesecake. The presentation was very nice although we had already cut it before taking a picture. It came with fresh berries, berry sauce, cream, and a cookie which were a great combination. The cheesecake was very soft and delicious. I would rate this a...
