A Vegetarian Delight in Calgary! I recently ordered takeout from GingerFresh Indo-Chinese Cuisine at 7196 Temple Dr NE Unit #12 in Calgary, and it was a vegetarian dream come true! This spot masterfully blends Indian and Chinese flavors, delivering a takeout experience that’s perfect for a cozy night in. The Veg Hot and Sour Soup arrived hot and bursting with tangy, spicy notes that hit all the right spots for a vegetarian palate. The Burnt Garlic Hakka Noodles were phenomenal – perfectly wok-tossed with a smoky flavor and loaded with fresh veggies like bell peppers and cabbage that stayed crisp. The Veg Manchurian, a favorite from my past Indo-Chinese cravings, was divine, with crispy veggie balls in a rich, garlicky sauce that was as flavorful as ever. I also tried the Chinese Bhel, a crunchy, vegetarian-friendly fusion dish that mixed Indian street food vibes with bold Chinese spices, making it a fun addition to my meal. The online ordering was seamless, and my food was ready on time, carefully packed to keep everything fresh and hot. Their in-house Schezwan sauce added a fiery kick that elevated every dish. Today I with my wife went to eat at Ginger Fresh. To start with this place is Halal. The owner showed the Halal certification and confirmed that all his meat comes from AlNoor Halal Meat and more over he serves only Halal meat.

Food quality The food tastes really good, however very hot and spicy even if you choose medium spicy, however mild spicy was just perfect and pleasant on the tongue. The chicken Manchurian we took was medium spicy, which was very good but not the same as served in Pakistani Chinese restaurants. I would rate it 7/10. Regular flavor Chowmein too is very tasty we went for mild for Chowmein and it was perfect. Lastly, rice we went for burnt garlic flavored chicken fried rice, which were OK as the burnt garlic flavor wasn't too pleasant, but I am sure regular flavor would be better.

Service The owner was very friendly and gave us a couple of viable suggestions while we were ordering.

Atmosphere Since it is a takeout/delivery but the place was clean, and there wasn't any kind of smell or visible dirt.

I went in here to satisfy my Chinese food craving. Although the place has limited seating, my family of three were accommodated very comfortably by our order taker/ co owner of the restaurant, Sulekha. We found her to be pleasant, humble and very hospitable. We ordered chicken lollipop, veg fried rice and triple schezwan fried rice. Sulekha also offered some fries for my toddler while we waited for our food. The food came out hot, fresh and was absolutely yum. It wasn't doused in oil and MSG and gladly we didn't have upset tummies after eating their food. portion was great and the price - very reasonable! We wanted to try other dishes except our tummies were too full. This is also surprisingly the first Indian restaurant in Calgary that we have been to that serves Mumbai style schezwan sauce. We've also had lollipop at Fusion food (food truck) which is pretty comparable but hate that their timings are never suitable for us.

I wish these guys all the best and am looking forward to their franchise opening in downtown so i can visit them more often than...
