"LACK OF COMMON SENSE"
“Slowly, gradually, with great mental resistance but still inexorably, it dawned on me that I had paid $107 for food with almost no flavor & 1/3rd order missing.
I would leave zero stars if I could. The food is mediocre for the price and to make it even worse it is not even close to authentic.
I have never left a negative review in my life and I do realize that this is not a Michelin starred restaurant, but dear me, I also think that you can expect some sort of standard when you go out to eat. Unfortunately, the standard at this restaurant was very poor. Where do I start? This place is horrible. I ordered food for 9 of my family members, which consisted of 13 different varieties on the menu. To my surprise, when me along of with my family members sat at the dining table to diminish our hunger by digging into the food which we happily ordered from "ROYAL PAAN" on July 23rd 2021, we were shocked to find out that, most of the food we ordered had been missing. To understand more, I have attached a photo of my order details which clearly shows what was ordered and what was delivered from the Restaurant. My folks are q big fan of "DOSA" and we ordered 4 just for them and not even a single one was included in our delivery package. It was a moment of shame & embarrassment. I tried contacting the restaurant to express my concern & dis-appoint but as per my expectation, nobody answered. I had family members at the table and food was not sufficient for everyone on the table. I'm not sure what exactly went wrong in processing a fairly decent order that was supposed to feed 9 people. I'd say there are many other "SMALL BUSINESSES" which work very hard & provide lip smacking food to their customers and please try not to donate & have a horrible experience at this very food chain.
I will be visiting the restaurant tomorrow July 24th 2021 to bring this issue to upper management's attention & I really hope someone takes this seriously & addresses the said situation. It's a big "NO" "NO" to visit them & not waste you're hard earned money...
Read moreWent there to eat on Feb 4th around 10:30pm. Server approached our table 4 times to place an order within a span of 3 minutes. When I ordered South Indian food, the comment passed was that it’s too late to order South Indian you can only order chaat or sandwiches. We were there 30 minutes prior to closing and 15 minutes prior to last call. So we ordered one item instead of all of us eating so we can quickly leave and go somewhere else. You lost business there for 3 additional people who wanted to have dinner.
When I ordered, the server came and dropped the faloodas first and threw the straws on the table. When the sandwich finally came to me, she literally gave it to me in my hand instead of placing it on the table. The service felt like the restaurant was doing a favour for us. For someone who works in the service industry and hospitality industry myself, this is the first time I left without bothering to even consider gratuities and one of the rare times that I am writing a review for a restaurant. Absolutely horrible and unacceptable in todays service standards. No wonder why the restaurant look’s empty everytime we do there. Been going here since 2017 but never again.
Why have the restaurant timings until 11pm when your intention is to not take any orders around 10:30pm? The server told us last call is 10:45pm and when she goes towards the kitchen to get the menu another associate there passed a comment mentioning, “tell them the restaurant is closed and ask them for take out.” If you can’t staff or if you don’t want to be operational then close the Dam restaurant early instead of false advertising and failing to deliver operationally. I ordered a shake, and they gave me falooda instead. When I told them it was the wrong order, they started arguing with me instead of correcting it. They refused to fix it and basically forced me to accept it, saying I had ordered falooda — which is 100% false.
When I finally got the shake, it tasted disgusting and stale. I told them politely that the taste was really bad — and their response? They ignored me completely. No apology, no concern.
When I told the girl working there, she casually said:
"Your falooda is in the fridge." That means they are serving old, pre-made food — not fresh at all, just taking it from the fridge and handing it to customers. Absolutely unhygienic.
And that’s not all — the place is FILLED with mosquitoes. There were mosquitoes flying around the food and the seating area, which is disgusting and a serious health concern. The tables were dirty, and overall, the place felt unhygienic and neglected.
The guy at the pay counter was rude and arrogant, and the staff had zero manners or training. This is not how you run a food business.
Royal Paan at this location is a complete disgrace. Poor service, bad food, rude staff, and zero cleanliness. I will never return, and I strongly warn others: Stay away. Your health and money are better...
