To be honest this restaurant wasn't absolutely horrible however I would never recommend it to someone.
Our waitress was very polite and helpful: she didn't rush us or anything and told me what was included in some drinks.
The atmosphere is fine, pretty casual but it's very crowded so if you don't get there early and get one of the steats by the walls then you'll have to sit in the center area that I thought looked too crowded. We happened to get a seat by the window but it was right in front of the main door and it was a rainy day so anytime someone came in, a cold wind would hit us.
Now, the biggest problem I had with this restaurant was with the food which I personally think is the most important part of being a restaurant. I said I wouldn't recommend this place to someone simply because there's just better places to go to. To clarify, we had the appetizers as dine in and the main course as take out. All of the food had a rubbery texture or a weird bitter flavour. The Pani Puri was very flavourless and that came from my mother who has a very low spice tolerance. The Gobi Manchurian was somehow hard to grab with a fork because of the texture, the tandoori chicken tasted good but it was rubbery and hard to break with a fork. The appetizers were acceptable but the chicken momos and the noodles were bad, especially the noodles. The chow mein I ordered had chicken that had the same weird rubbery texture. The noodles felt like they had no real flavour, it was salty and weirdly sweet but also it was very bitter?? The Momo's were the best thing but even they weren't that great; I honestly think the frozen store bought ones are better.
I'm assuming it's because the restaurant was busy when we were waiting for our main course (the one we got for take out) because the noodles and momos definitely took over 30 minutes because we got there at 7:25pm and ended up coming home around 10pm after only having the appetizers because we had to wait so long.
Overall, if you're not used to authentic Indian cooking then this place is worth trying atleast once but for those who are used to authentic Indian food, it's not for you. It was our first time going here and I don't think we'll be returning. I don't think a restaurant is worth going to if you don't enjoy the experience and can just make it much...
Read moreoffering a delightful blend of Indo-Chinese Hakka flavors. From swift service to an ambiance that soothes the soul, La Jawab promises an unforgettable dining experience.
Guests are greeted with a vibrant atmosphere, amplified by an amazing selection of music that sets the perfect tone for a culinary adventure. The lighting, soft yet inviting, bathes the space in a warm glow, enhancing the overall dining experience.
For starters, I indulged in the Pani Puri, a delightful twist on a classic street food favorite. What sets La Jawab apart is their ingenious presentation – the puris come pre-filled with a burst of flavorful goodness, sparing diners the hassle of assembling them themselves. This thoughtful touch not only adds to the convenience but also elevates the dining experience.
Next up was the Chicken Tikka. Each bite revealed tender, succulent pieces of chicken bursting with robust flavors. Paired with the green mint chutney, the dish reached new heights of taste sensation. Though the chutney leaned towards a runnier consistency, its impeccable flavor profile compensated for any textual concerns.
Finally, I tried their signature Hakka Noodles, a dish that perfectly encapsulates the fusion of Indo-Chinese cuisine. The noodles boasted an explosion of flavors, albeit with a fiery kick that might challenge the uninitiated palate. Yet, despite its spicy nature, the dish proved to be irresistibly addictive, leaving me craving for more.
In conclusion, La Jawab offers more than just a meal – it presents an unforgettable culinary journey that marries the best of Indo-Chinese flavors with...
Read moreWe heard allot of good reviews about the restaurant and decided to go there for birthday dinner. Once we reached there they assigned the table to us and it was in the center surrounded by different tables. The table was quite noisy so we requested the staff to accommodate us to a different table which just got cleared 2 mins prior.
The staff (girl 1) serving us was pretty good and accepted the offer to do that, but meanwhile another staff(girl 2nd) assigned the same table to another family which was earlier requested by us.We understood the situation that it happened naturally and started waiting for another table to clear and move there. The staff (girl 1) serving us requested to wait for 5-7 mins as the other table will get clear soon. So we waited again for our turn.
Unfortunately the staff (girl2) did the same thing again by ignoring our request for table change and assigned the empty dirty table to another family. Even though that family wanted to sit on a different table which was free and close to the wall area.
That staff (girl 2) really made us feel that our request was not important. Somewhere down the line we feel it was intensional. That really ruined our evening. We paid and packed the food and left the restaurant right away. If there was something going on, the staff could come to us and explain the situation and we would be more than happy to understand and wait a little more. Rather than ignoring us and our request.
But the food was very good so thumps up to that 👍🏻. The service was terrible by...
