Gogo Chicken is a Korean fried chicken restaurant. This fried chickecn is located in the NorthWest near Winston Churchill High School.
The location is easy to find with lots of parking available.
The interior of the restaurant is small. This allows for a more cozy atmosphere. The restaurant feels very friendly as if you are in a friend's house.
The restaurant offers several different chicken options, such as half chicken, full chicken, and even combos. Most of the fried chicken items come in varying flavors (soy garlic, various spicy flavors, snowy curry). Gogo Chicken also offers chicken burgers, japchae (korean glass noodles), cupbaps (rice dishes), and more!
The fried chicken was well cooked and fairly juicy. The soy garlic chicken was light and not too heavy. The sauce was not too thick, allowing the fried chicken to maintain a very crispy exterior. This may have led to the flavor not being as deep as it could have been. The spicy chicken had much more sauce. Allowing for a richer flavor, but left the chicken a little soft and not as crispy. The spicy sauce was overall delicious, but aside from the spice, it did not have enough depth to leave a lasting taste. The japchae was tasteful and light. Making it super easy to constantly gulp down the noodles. The texture was a little too soft, making them a little mushy.
The service was quick and friendly. The staff appears to be the owners as they are running a small local restaurant. Customers should look to spend an average amount for food. Gogo Chicken charges about the same as most Korean fried chicken restaurant.

Read moreI’ve given this restaurant a couple chances since opening as I work in the area. Each time I’ve been disappointed. The first time, I walked in to place a take-out order for me and another coworker. I was told 20 minutes. After close to an hour waiting, I requested a refund as my entire lunch break had now been wasted. As the server/cashier/owner/expo was processing my refund, he was told from the kitchen my order was ready. I declined the refund and took the good back to work. It was great! Hot, flavorful, great portions. But again, I was quite annoyed with the wait. Today, I decided to try again abs I called ahead. I asked the wait time and was told 25-30 minutes. Then as I began to place my order, I was told “actually 30-40”. So I asked clearly, what time will my order be ready. He said 12:40. I continued to place my order and after completing it, was told, “maybe like 12:45”. I got to the restaurant to pick-up and only waited 2 or 3 minutes. Got back to work to find my main order was completely wrong! The food was hot and chicken crispy, but I didn’t even want the bother of calling to have the order rectified or corrected. I gave 2 opportunities to this new restaurant and I’m sorry, I...
Read moreWe ordered what we typically would order from other Korean style fried chicken places. We were surprised to see that the serving sizes were larger than those of their competitors, the individual pieces of fried chicken felt larger. The chicken was crispy, just the way we like it. We ordered the original and normally that'd be a safe choice for us. However, it was way spicier than we expected. The heat kept building and building with each bite you took. If you are spice intolerant, proceed with caution. We don't typical eat spicy, but can tolerate a bit. The flavour was still delicious. We also ordered pickled radish, but I think you get some with the chicken anyways. No loss on us, we love pickled radish. We also tried the sotteok. It was made to perfection. The rice cakes were crispy yet chewy. The hotdog saltiness and the bland rice cake were perfect for each other. We loved both and will be back.
I was excited to see they had corn dogs, but the two options they had both have cheese. Being lactose intolerant had to pass on ordering, please consider bringing in a sausage...
