Got delivery from door dash. I decided to try these guys instead of our neighbourhood Chinese restaurants. The only reason I did it is because DoorDash was offering a 40% discount. Restaurants like Cherry Inn are known for the great quality of their Chinese food. So I got an idea why they called themselves, lazy monkey there is no vegetables in the fried rice. It was very plain and bland. The beef with vegetables was very tasty, but you were given a very small portion the chow mein. I actually had to look it up on Google to see if I got the wrong dish my husband‘s father died not to long ago and it was his favourite dish. It’s suppose to be noodles with veggies and some protein. There was almost no vegetables and literally one piece of chicken the size of my pinky nail. I ordered what I thought were pork spring rolls for $5 for two. It turned out to a vegetarian one but still tasted good. Also the ginger beef was wayyy to sweet, swimming in sugar sauce, barely no ginger taste. I am kicking myself for not ordering from Cherry inn who always gives good quality food. I will not be ordering...

Out of spite I'm writing this review with Lazy Monkey's own wifi. Their name refects the experience, lazy and filled with monkeys. Terrible service. The servers there are constantly rude. Waiting for service is like waiting for paint to dry. I ordered my drink 5-7 minutes before another group of girls and I got my drink after theirs. The bubble tea is a gamble. Flavour is extremely inconsistent, I ordered the same drink and the first time it was pretty good and second time it was overly sweet that I had to throw it out, literally 100% syrup and the server just rolled her eyes at me when I asked her to fix it... Over priced for a place that uses powder. I can go literally anywhere else and they offer REAL FRUIT at a good price. Anyways I'm stuck drinking this bubble tea since it's the only...

Ordered online with Lazy Monkey and was delighted by the food. Dumplings were so tender and the filling was delicious. You could choose between steamed, deep fried, or pan fried. We followed with salt & pepper deep fried shrimp. They were plump, succulent, and the batter was light, crispy and flavourful. It wasn't tempura but it was that light. The order of special fried noodles was packed with pork, chicken, and shrimp. The mango smoothie was really good and you can decide how sweet you want it. I choose 50% sugar and it was so good. We have been searching for a new Chinese restaurant in the NW and we have found it. The delivery defaulted to Door Dash and that worked for us this time. The order arrived within 20 minutes of being placed. ...

Yikes… Things have changed here. We ordered three items, “Taiwanese” fried chicken, sweet and sour soup and the beef noodle soup with wide noodles. The “Taiwanese” chicken was at the very least crispy, but the batter was way too thick and the wrong greens were added on top. Not to mention the chicken was not very good quality. The beef noodle soup was inedible. The broth had no flavour and was somehow greasy. The beef had no taste and the noodles were over cooked /mushy and tasteless. The upside was the broccoli which was not cooked too much, so it was still crunchy. Finally the sweet and sour soup was not bad. It was a little on the hot side, but it had a good amount of tofu and vegetables. Long story short, skip this place.

I used to frequent this place 4-5 years ago and loved the Taiwanese / Hong Kong style street food, baked rice, "hot spring" instant noodles, and authentic bubble tea. Sadly this place is not what it used to be. All of the yummy street food dishes have been replaced with the types of dishes usually found at food court "Chinese" places, the Taiwanese style fried chicken had an odd batter on it, and the bubble tea smoothie that I ordered was made from awful sugary synthetic flavoring. I ordered a beef noodle soup hoping it was a Taiwanese style beef noodle soup, but instead it was like a bowl of pho that was devoid of any flavor.

This is a Taiwanese HK style cafe with a great selection of dishes and snacks and bubble drinks. Located in a strip mall close to other asian restaurants and Korean grocery shop. On the plus side the food was decent for the location. The portions were a little bit small. I probably won’t make the drive back just for this type of food. I prefer 3Q on Macleod Trail or Twenty Thirty on 16th Ave over this place. But if you are in the neighbourhood I recommend checking out BO RI. I’ve written a review on that restaurant.
