I had a terrible experience here. Me and my fiance stopped her a few days ago just to grab something quickly. I had the shredded beef sub and she had the salad wrap. Her salad wrap was bland and the peanut sauce was so watered down it was literally gross brown tasting water. The sub I ordered was supposed to come with a pop and when it came I asked for my can of pop and they tried to charge me. I showed her the menu and she said they don't give a pop with what I ordered anymore even though it's on the menu. I specifically order that sub because of the drink so I wanted my money back and they could keep the sub. At which point I was told I could keep the sub or throw it out but I wasn't getting my money back. Even though it was priced right in their menu. So, with nothing else I could do I took the sandwich. When I got home instead of shredded meat they put noodles in my sandwich. I took the sandwich apart and pulled out all the meat to find 3 very small shreds of park, about the size of 3 slivers of shredded carrots. I ordered and payed for a pork sandwich and a pop, instead I got a bland noodle sandwich and they refused to give me the drink that was supposed to part of the meal I paid for. This is now what I would consider the worst Vietnamese...

I visited Hue Thuong Restaurant in Calgary recently, and while the food was absolutely delicious and the younger staff—a tall young man and a young woman with glasses—provided exceptional and friendly service, my experience was ruined by another staff member. This was an older, short man with darkened yellow-toned skin who displayed extremely unhygienic behavior. When I arrived, he was sweeping the floor but didn’t wash his hands before handling utensils, instead grabbing chopsticks and spoons with his bare hands and placing them on my table. During my meal, he continued sweeping, causing dust to fly into our food. His disheveled appearance and rude attitude made the experience very unpleasant. Since that day, I have decided not to return to Hue Thuong. I hope the restaurant addresses these issues, as I would love to come back someday, but only if I don’t have to encounter this staff...
Read moreIt can be difficult to find a Vietnamese restaurant that serves more than your typical pho, Banh mi, and vermicelli - so when I heard about this place and it’s regional Hue cuisine, I had to try it out. It was my first time seeing some of these dishes again outside of Vietnam, and I was not disappointed. We tried several item, but my favorite had to be the stir fried clam scooped up and eaten with shrimp chips. The ban beo and Banh nam were also great. We also noticed that they used more authentic rice paper instead of egg roll paper for their spring rolls and these tasted wonderful, very light, thin and crispy, as well as not too oily.
Have a lot more good things to say about this place, but one thing is for sure - we’ll...
