Visiting Calgary and decided to find the closest Nigerian restaurant and a few came up but we decided to go with this. The layout and interior was just a wee bit nicer than the standard Nigerian restaurant look or aesthetic. The lady who attended to us looked tired but she was smiling through it and that is huge to me. I could eat and enjoy my food without a smile but the effort meant or means a whole lot in my opinion. The washroom was really clean. The water for rinsing/washing our hands was nice and warm. Little things like that count. NOW THE KOKO (main thing). The nkwobi was BOMB. Not bones funny muscle-y meat…nice good sized meat and delicious! I had Afang and that was really good too (you can see that I didn’t remember to take pictures… e get why 😄). We got the grilled tilapia to go and feedback we got is that it was really nice. I will definitely be visiting again. Oh! And wait time was not bad at all. Nkwobi came within 10mins of us being seated and the main meals came before we had finished...
Read moreWe ordered a Jollof Rice and was surprised it's only good for 1 person for a price of more than 30 cad. Disappointed with the taste. The ambiance was also dark and we are uncomfortable with our seats because floor under table seems to be unclean and wasn't mopped thoroughly. Reading the reply of managment to low rating here justified our decision not to say anything because staffs look rude and just serves you low quality food for a high price 👎
Edit: See how rude their comment to this post because they can't take criticism? To even make "foreigner" sound like an insult, and to expect customers to adjust to their bad attitude diguised as their cultural way. No need to prove anything. It shows 🤭🤭
PS: don't be scared of bad reviews in Google, you deserve it. Not everyone is willing to do a karen battle inside a restaurant who prepares our food and holds our bill. We can always tell other people which businesses to stay...
Read moreI was recommended this African restaurant and I really wanted to try it. Sadly my server Stella didn't feel like working that day. She didn't recommend anything on the menu, when we asked for recommendations she said "Jollo rice" but didn't explain why and kept quiet. She took the orders and delivered the food but never came back to check on us. We had to stand and go to the bar to pay. We wanted to try dessert but the experience was just 1/5 and no one offered. The food was okay, expensive for what you get. The chicken was dry but the rice was good. The bananas were okay but cold. We tried the white sweet potato and was dry. The curry was really good but we couldn't get more because we had no server.
We went to the Mexican restaurant "Golden Cactus" that is 2 min walk away had a few tacos and dessert (4.5/5) We are coming back to the Mexican restaurant and unfortunately...
