Gets my vote for most improved local business under the Covid era. JJ's seems to have taken the stress of the last year in stride, and have really stepped up their game. The new patio is amazing, the servers are delightful, friendly and attentive and the kitchen has taken a huge step forward. Went last night for the chicken Ceasar special, it was as perfect a Ceasar as I've ever had with generous helpings of juicy Cajun chicken at an unreal price. Our lovely waitress informed us that they are now offering a 12-3 breakfast menu so we came back the next day and had the amazing eggs Benny at $13.95 with a generous jug of mimosa on the side. The eggs were like fluffy clouds, cooked to perfection with rich, flavourful hollandaise and well-seasoned chunky hash browns. A standard brekky, but done with the kind of attention to detail that really made for a delightful dining experience, and the ambience of the new patio was fantastic. 10/10 would recommend supporting this friendly local, they seem really keen on building the business through great service, prices...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm not sure if it's just doordash orders but this is the second time I ordered and the food was terrible. Today I ordered nachos with extra ground beef. The nachos are stated to have olives and banana peppers. I got neither. For $23 this was a rip off. The top of the nachos were burnt. I really was hoping this order would redeem my last order so I could continue ordering but unfortunately it did not. I will definitely not recommend or order from here again. That is unfortunate because they stay open later and often have some type of special through door dash. I would try dining in and hope that it's better than delivery quality, and topping or items are not missing. But likely I'll just go for drinks and not food based on taste and quality. Sorry! I actually feel bad writing this review but I did try giving it...
Ā Ā Ā Read more2 main things keep me coming back here. The main bartender is absolutely amazing. She's a Cape Bretoner, and if you know anything about East Coast hospitality, enough said. Additionally, the drink prices are fantastic, probably the best in the neighborhood. The food is nothing fancy, but it's affordable and the portions are pretty good. I've had really bad luck with the chicken wings though, and wouldn't recommend them. Best deal is probably the lasagna, and the Philly Cheese Steak and Pizza are pretty solid. In general, it's a good place to pop in for a drink if you're not expecting too much, and I've had a few good chats with the regulars. Has that local pub feel that's nice when you want to mix it up with the folks in the neighborhood. Would be nice to maybe see a karaoke or trivia night...
