I've come here on and off for a few years. The food is OK if you're in a pinch. It is quite bland.
Tonight I learned the character of the people who run this establishment.
I ordered for a group of people and when I arrived home with my order I was missing a dish. I called to verify and they said I did not order that. OK there was a miscommunication and they forgot to add it. That's fine. It was new years so it's their busy day of the year.
I asked if I can have them make one and I will come pick it up. I didn't ask for it for free, I just simply wanted the dish, the woman sounded shocked that I wanted it.
When I arrived two woman appeared to be making whiny voices at me, I figured it probably wasn't because of me. I was then asked a question by a different woman while paying for my order and the other two began mocking my response. So it was clear they had an issue with me wanting to buy another dish.
It was shocking to see this is how I was treated when I was wanting to spend more money at their restaurant.
I decided to throw the entire dish away as I fully expect them to tamper with my food if they act like that.
I'll never be coming back to this restaurant ever again and I encourage others to...
Read moreThis is the best Chinese food place south of downtown for sure! John Wong's really looks after their customers and the food is top notch! I ordered from skip the first time for pick up and when I went in to grab my food, the owner told me to call her next time as they always have deals. They either have %off for cash or pickup or a free item if purchasing over a certain amount. I forgot about this when I ordered the second time but when I went in to pick it up she automatically told me she gave one of the ordered items for free. The dumplings are a little too doughy but the filling is so good and lots of it! I put them in the airfryer to crisp up the dough a lil more and they were perfect. The ginger beef is always tender and the container is stuffed to the brim. Chow mein is filled with crisp veggies and lots of noodles and meat. The salt and pepper shrimp are my favorite!! Cheapest in town (If you ordered directly, not through skip) just enough spice and they're big, and batter is crispy. I highly...
Read moreI am a classically trained graduate of Professional Cooking from SAIT. Ordered a dinner for 2. Barely any chicken (real chicken tiny peices) in the Chicken Fried Rice, just a few peas and a few pieces of egg. Ordered Almond Gai Ding and the meat was rubbery and no texture of chicken what so ever. I honestly do not believe it was chicken at all. The Ginger Beef was the toughest I have ever had. Told the server I was allergic to mushrooms and mushrooms were served in the Almond Gai Ding. My friend also said how hard it was to eat the Ginger Bef and only a few pieces were decent to eat. She did offer to have the hot and sour soup made with no mushrooms and I declined. Service was pretty good. I believe in honesty. Try Peking Bills in Shawnweesy for a wonderful place for Chinese Food. The Chicken Balls are big chuncks of chicken and the Ginger Beef are both fabulousI discovered it a few months ago and they have won awards for...
