Market Tea — Restaurant in Calgary

Visited Market for the fist time last weekend. I ordered a chai latte and the owner told me there was matcha in it, which I normally hate. He told me if I didn't like my tea then he would give me my money back right there and then. I ordered the tea, and while he was making it gave me valuable knowledge about tea and was overall very friendly and open to questions. Once my tea was done, I tasted it and it was probably the best tea I've ever drank. He then not only preceded to give me a sample of his Cochin Masala Chai, but wrote down exactly what temperature I should boil the water at, how long to steep for and what percentage of milk I should add! I stop by this special tea (specialty - get it? Lol!) vendor pretty much every week for the fabulous variety of teas and the wonderful ladies working there. Their sweet blue raspberry matcha tea is unquestionably my personal favourite and can be enjoyed either hot or cold! I also highly recommend the hibiscus, southern sweet tea and their cucumber lemon refresher tea. High praise and shout-outs definitely go to Shamila, Margarita and Ivy who regularly work there. I cannot even begin to explain how much of a gem this place is. When people talk about food culture, hip vibes and great energy - this place embodies it all.

They have a nice curated selection of quality teas. Whatever your taste is, you'll be able to find something that suits you. The owners are very knowledgeable and will spend time talking to you to find your tea.

Highly recommend picking up one of their cold teas - SO FREAKING DELICIOUS!
