I decided to have an early dinner here yesterday, and the "red headed Mexican" who works there suggested trying the fish tacos. It sounded like a good option, so I went with it. Wow, she was bang on with her recommendation - the fish was seasoned/salted beautifully and the added sauces, lettuce and even lime squeeze all made for a very tasty and satisfying meal! I haven't enjoyed fish tasting that great in awhile. Molcajete's continues to impress me with all of their great food!
I've enjoyed the authentic Mexican and Latino foods here for several years. Everything from the tortilla chips and pazole to the large variety of salsas and the freshly made watermelon juice tastes awesome! It's also a super place for a variety of various salsas, from totally mild all the way up to 11 pepper rated hot, and believe me: it IS hot!! Lillian, the owner, always make sure you get terrific Spanish eats here! I often recommend...
Read moreI like their food, but sometimes they get so carried away with taking to each other or doing things they forget about looking to see if there is a customer at the front. I waited 5 minutes, nobody looked, I took a lap around the market and went back, still waited for a while until someone finally saw me. Need a bell at the front. Also, they sell homemade sauces and food there - there needs to be an expiry date on these products. Most of the time I have sauces at home and when they lapse a week I just toss them out. The arbol chili should be available in smaller sizes. I think this one went bad after a couple of days - the smell was off, but I don't know if it was expired? As per Canada laws, if the food has a shelf life of 90 days or less, there needs to be an expiry date on them. Place has a lot of potential but needs improvement with selling products and on...
Read moreI got myself excited for Mexican today but I left so disappointed it was hard to take. I ordered the Fish Taco plate, $13.50 for three tacos. The fish was so anemic it was almost none existent, it was like a cheap bargain walmart fillet was lightly breaded then deep fried to past done then they added some onions and cilantro. No salsa or anything with it despite asking for the chipotle on the side. I asked when ordering how much for an extra Taco, that would be an additional $5. I have eaten here numerous times in the past have have found the quality to be dropping like a rock. Good traditional Mexican food is nonexistent in this town. Someone please tell me where to find a good traditional taco...
