Today I drove the 40 miles into the city with the idea I would pick up an 11 liter carton of orange float Foothills Creamery ice cream, at the factory as I have done many times in the past (old location and new) . I rang the door bell as sign indicated and was informed by an employee that you must order ahead by phone or by website, and allow at least 2 hours before it would be ready for pickup. As it was 3/4 hour until their closing I certainly would not be able to get it until tomorrow! I was obviously unaware of this policy which apparently started as a result of covid-19, and tried to explain that to the employee to no avail. Isn't it interesting that covid has allowed customer service to now be all but forgotten by Foothills. I didn't used to mind paying the premium price for their ice cream at the factory (or at a store) and was always treated as a valued customer at the factory. Today I drove my 40 miles back home and on the way picked up a container of premium ice cream of another brand. Based on today's experience I see no need to further support...
Read moreThe ice cream was pretty good at the Calgary Farmer's Market South. I had the cookies and creme flavor in a waffle cone. However, what made the experience kind of unpleasant was the young lady staff member today.
She for some reason expressed an unfriendly attitude when I simply asked if I can have sprinkles on the side in a cup (after I had already purchased and started eating my ice cream), since she said they are free. She proceeded in a demeaning manner to explain that "the cups are not free". I completely understand the information, I just felt it could have been communicated more professionally/kindly towards a customer. To be honest, it made me regret buying the ice cream from them. Maybe she was just having a bad day, but I do not think you should take it out on strangers.

Read moreButter is nice. However I bought a 11.4L Ice Cream. It was horrible, it was advertised as Pistachio Almond, no where in the ingredients is there pistachio, just green food colouring. Might as well just call it Green Almond Ice Cream, because that is what it is. This should be illegal marketing. The ice cream also isn't made with quality milk either as it had chunks of ice in it. Not to mention you would get chunks of unmixed pieces of sugar that'll stick to your teeth like toffee. Worst $60 spent for...
