Orange Bob Pizza & More... — Restaurant in Calgary

Ordered via Skip the Dishes as they were giving a $10 coupon on selected restaurants and my guests decided on pizza. When the driver was close as per the app, I waited at the back door of my building, as per the delivery instructions left for the driver. After 15 minutes received a message from Skip saying the restaurant sent the wrong order and it was cancelled and they wanted me to call them. At the same time I got a call from the driver at the front door. He said he was there for 20 minutes but had not called or texted. I figured Skip texted the wrong person as he handed the order to me but then he grabbed it out of my hand saying i just got a message you cancelled it! As I stared in disbelief from him snatching the order out of my hand he said "Don't worry, I'm not going to eat it, I need to take it back to the restaurant so I can get paid. Skip will refund you" I was going to tell him just to leave it, I would accept it as is and not to refund it, but he left quickly. The app now had the order marked cancelled but there was no refund for it, and it was still showing as being charged to my credit card. I called the restaurant who confirmed they sent the wrong order. I told them the driver just left with it to bring it back, as he said he would not get paid otherwise. He told he the driver was just supposed to leave it, so he would send their own driver with a new order if I paid 50% minus the amount for the coupon, and the $15 would go to the driver. The driver showed up about 45 minutes later, at the wrong door, and said he did not carry cash, and could not give change so I ended up paying $20 for 2 small pizzas and wings. Sadly they were barely warm, and one pizza was wet and soggy on the bottom, the other, the crust was raw in the middle and gross, likely because they rushed to resend it. We picked off and ate the toppings, and nibbled on cold wings, both of which tasted ok cold, but it was not a full or satisfying meal and was not the dinner I had in mind for my guests. They are currently looking at chinese menus while I write this. I will not be using Skip again and not sure we will ever try Orange Bob again, having had such a lousy experience. Appreciate them trying to do damage control, but the sog and raw was a real deal breaker. The no change sucked too, but I guess being out $20 isn't as bad as it could have been. I hope I do get a refund from Skip for the original order, this ordeal was not worth $50+.. wish I knew if the Skip driver did take it back to the restaurant, it seems odd that he made a big deal of telling me he wouldn't eat it. A tiny little place in Richmond hill just off of Sierra Morena and Richmond road owned and operated by a Korean family. The owner is super friendly and enthusiastic, he initially comes off as a little weird but he is super nice and works really hard the more I get to know him. English can be a little tricky here so be patient when you order and speak a little slower if you have a lot of things to order and a lot of modifications to make . He will always repeat everything back to you at the end of the order to confirm .. my advice is to let him finish speaking before making any more adjustments or changes on the off chance he gets it wrong .

So so happy these guys have survived the covid lockdowns and hope they stick around for ever.

I am SUPER picky about my pizza and have tried countless places across the city .

Orange Bob’s has surprisingly one of the best Pizza’s I’ve ever had . They have consistently made perfectly cooked pizza’s for me for the past year. I always order double the cheese, double the pineapples , bacon , ham, and jalepeno’s.

It’s a simple pizza but everywhere else I’ve gone to order this combination , simply can’t compare to Orange Bobs ❤️

The cheese and the sauce that they use are soooo good. The toppings are all awesome and the crust is perfect .

I do live close and I always pick up so perhaps that is why I am lucky to have the pizza minutes out of the oven .

wouldnt recomend you feed your dog from this place. I moved into a supportivr living center nearby and spent a few weeks trying a variety of local take out spots. Tried orange bob and found pizza to be utter garbage, uncooked, small toppings, non leaven dough, just awful. The only saving grace was that the greek salad was alright. The owner even called me and asked how it all was, I was honest and told him the top needs more heat, the pizza was white on top, he agreed and promised next time it would be better. Next time I called, I told the owner how I liked the pizza well done, so cheese was partially brown and greasy on top, this is when you get the true flavor of the mozza. He said no problem. Well when the pizza arrived I opened the box and the cheese was all white, no brown or even beige anywhere, pure white top. He made up excuses and said it was his oven. Well if thats the case then change your oven, cause I cannot see you getting any steady customers selling such sub par pizza. Some people make excuses and leave it the same, others fix the problem and move forward. This owner likes making excuses, so I wont order from him again. I am sure many others have...
