The ambiance at Termeh is warm and inviting—cozy decor paired with genuinely friendly staff made for a pleasant first impression. We were welcomed with a complimentary **sharbat albaloo (sour cherry drink)**, which was refreshingly delicious and set a lovely tone for the evening. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite meet expectations. The **kabob koobideh** lacked the depth of flavor and proper texture that usually defines this classic dish. The **yogurt-marinated chicken** was passable, but leaned slightly below average in terms of taste. Most disappointing was the **rice**, which was frankly the worst I’ve ever had—dry and lacking the fragrance or fluffiness Persian rice is known for. I strongly recommend that the kitchen revisit their rice preparation, especially since it seems to be a recurring concern mentioned in other reviews as well. Termeh has potential—great atmosphere and hospitable service—but it needs to raise the bar when it comes to its core dishes. I truly hope they make the changes needed, because the experience *almost* hits the mark.

Old Review: “The food was great, the best Kashk Bademjan, also the staff were very nice. Liked the interior design.” This is an update to my old review: I do go to this restaurant pretty often and I was very satisfied most of the time. The last two experiences I had made me kind of disappointed that I am thinking I should stop going and stop recommending it! I ordered take out couple of weeks ago and the Tahdig was burnt! I honestly thought no one should serve such food! But then it was the only time. Last night I went with couple of friends, and I ordered Dizi excitedly, but is was very very spicy (hot) for me. I could not eat it! And my friends also were disappointed with the taste of Kabab. The waiter was nice but she did not even refill our water glasses. And it was hard to get a hold of her even though the restaurant was empty. And I must say, why charging for an extra pita bread?! That is not nice when the food requires bread. Specially when the rest of it is taken back to the kitchen!

Termeh, a Persian restaurant in Calgary, has been around for about 3 or 4 years. Initially, it offered great service and excellent food, with everything rated top-notch. However, over time, the quality has noticeably declined. I am a fan of Kebab Torsh, but I am often disappointed because it tends to be overcooked and overpriced. My worst experience was with Kebab Barg, which was so overcooked it was inedible. When we brought this to the server’s attention, the response was dismissive and unhelpful. There was no apology! It feels like Termeh focuses more on appearance than on the quality of food and service. This might be because there are so few Persian cuisine options in Calgary, so they don’t feel the need to improve. If you want a better Persian restaurant, you might have to drive to Edmonton, Vancouver, or even Toronto. Unfortunately, Termeh doesn’t seem to care about their Persian customers.

Hello, I am here to share our disappointing experience. Before everything, I should say that our recent horrible experience (couple of weeks ago) was completely different than ours two years ago as returning costumers. We used to have their Mahicheh (lamb shank) and Fesenjoon (walnut stew) but they did not have them on menu anymore.

It was supposed to b our especial evening! Actually, that day we were only costumers, no take out and no dine in except us.

We ordered two main courses (Chenjeh and Kabab Torsh) and some side dishes. As soon as we started with the Chenjeh, right away we noticed something wrong with it. The waiter called in, as I did not want to have our evening ruined, to bring in another dish (one kobideh skewer) so we can serve it with the rice ... however Koobideh was barely edible, but it was better than Chenjeh for sure.

When the bill came, we noticed that not only we are charged for their problematic dish (Chenjeh), we were also charged for a full koobideh course where we had only a single skewer (it means less than half of full dish).

The nightmare started later in the evening. We both had to skip the next working day as we were still under the effect of food poisoning next day. I called two days later just to let them know what was our experience. It was strange the way she reacted as defensive rather than apologetic. But after two minutes of explanations, she mentioned that it has been the waiter's fault and it was from their family they would have taken care of the situation differently. She said that she will investigate and give us a call back two days later. It has been almost five weeks and nothing happened. Does it mean that the owner(s) do not care? You tell m.

I have been a supporter of local businesses, especially the one from our community. However, with any business comes a certain responsibilities and certainly a proper costumer service. I will remain a supporter of local and small businesses but a responsible one.

Hope that we all improve in a...

Today is December 9th, 2022 I gave this place a second chance because my friends was going there. Still the worst and even more. Service was late, too many contradictions between staff about our order and at the end when paying. Food came tasteless and the salads in general were horrible Garden Salad was watery, soggy and vegetables were sunk in the water like it’s been a week in the fridge. Taboulleh was a disaster, the bulgur was soaked in the watery and soggy ingredients, looked like it was eaten before. Garlic sauce was no where like a garlic, it was like a jello wobbly, so gross and disgusting. All the meat tastes like nothing. Paid too much for disastrous meal. We were 4 adults and 1 kid, paid around 200$. This 200$ is almost a high end restaurant bill, we paid that in gross food. Never never going there or recommending this place. Don’t go because you will get severely disappointed.

Terrible, horrible and disappointing experience! Service was too slow, customer service was not friendly, not cooperative, impatient and unhelpful. Unfriendly-kids restaurant. So rude and disrespectful while talking with us and the kids. The pay was a little weird, how can they make you pay more than the receipt says even if it is service! Ended up that customer service was telling us that we are a headache. I’m not sure what he was thinking when he said so but I’ve never seen something like that before nor this kind of treatment in a restaurant.

I think we’ve paid too much for lots of rice with no flavour and little meat, too expensive and even garlic sauce was served split and terrible side salad. Uncomfortable place and can get a better quality of Persian food and service at a different restaurants in Calgary. It is a shame and not recommend for anyone plus definitely will...

As an Iranian, I can confirm confidently that their chef has no idea what are Iranian dishes. If wish I was able to give the zero star. The food was complete uneatable. All of us( four people) weren’t able to finish it. Rice was smelling nasty. It didn’t cook very well. Main courses were absolute rubbish. Two of us ordered chenjeh kebab and we both realized it that the chef has no understanding about marinating the meat. It was completely undercooked. Two of us ordered khoresht and they weren’t khoresht at all. When I expressed my concern about what they are doing, the waiter only apologized and was shocked at the same time since she believed our comment about rice was unusual. Honestly, if you want to waste your money and get mad and disappointed, Termeh is the best choice. We were traveling and it was the worst way to start our vacation. I believe most of their costumers are not Iranian and that’s why they haven’t received any constructive comments about only their food. As an Iranian, first I do care about the food which is serving not their design and service. I hope my comment will be useful as an appropriate guidance for others. If you want to eat real Iranian food and spending less, try house of Kebab in Calgary. I told the cashier and I am repeating it her. This business will have no future and Iranians shouldn’t and won’t support them if They won’t improve the...
