Oriental Palace — Restaurant in Calgary

We have ordered from Oriental Palace twice now, We heard their food was amazing and offer a lot of GF options. First time we ordered was on valentines, we where told about an hour and a half for Delivery, With it being Valentines, we understood that they where busy, We ended up getting our food almost 3 hours after we ordered and the food was cold! Keeping in mind, we are only 8 mins away. We decided to try them again last night, and it was a little over an hour, we were told it would take that long, Again only an 8 min drive, all of our food except 2 things where Ice cold, like it was something taken out of the fridge.. we paid over a 100 for our food, ordered it right at opening. The food was tasty, but we had to heat it up. Paying that price we should have our food delivered HOT! We won't be ordering from...

This is the place I compare ALL others Chinese joints against. It has the BEST hot and sour soup I have ever had and the best ginger beef (best eaten there or pick up). What you won't find is the traditional western chow mien or almond chicken, besides that you will probably enjoy most of their western style Chinese food more than any other place. Have been going here for my entire life (25 years) and the food has stayed the same quality the entire time, just with additional improvement such as gluten free options. Ordered for delivery. Service was fast but food was tasteless and dry. The Lemon chicken was barely fried on the outside, although chicken was cooked on the inside. Lemon sauce was barely lemon. The portion sizes were small, except for the steamed rice which is cheap enough to provide a decent portion. No sauce at all on the stir fried vegetables, nor the ginger beef, which was also under done. Dumplings were small and mostly tasteless. No fortune cookies, only 4 pgk soya sauce - which was desperately needed for flavoring up the food. Was looking for the right local Chinese delivery to make a regular spot - but it won't be this one....
