My family and I visited this restaurant on September 15 2024, We had made a reservation for 17:15 (5:15 pm) for a party of six. Four of the party arrived early and we sat down. We waited for 15+ minutes to even get drinks. We waited for our drinks and the other two of our party arrived. The waitress came by and have us four our drinks and the then went to give another table their drinks, which is totally fine. She then left ignoring the two who arrived a bit later and never getting any drinks. Not even water. Granted the restaurant was busy however that is a display of poor costumer service. We have the waitress a couple of minutes but the possibile manager? Came into our section to deliver food for another table. My uncle actually had to call out to her several times before she turned around to acknowledge us. We asked for service. She went to get her notepad then returned and she said ok what’s your orders. We tried to get drink orders but she just wanted food orders. Well fine… We ordered a starter and fod. That took over 20+ minutes and it was after six bu then. The two other members of the party had finally gotten drinks, however we were awaiting for our food and we’re prepared to just get up and leave since all the other tables around us who arrived AFTER us had gotten their food. Even a table who walked in behind us had been served, ate and had paided and leaving before our food miraculously appeared as we asked about it. One member of the party sent their food back because the fries he had ordered were cold and it was clear it was poor quality from what was expected. As you can see in the pictures those of us who did eat, it was beause we were hungry, Not because it was really any good, yet you can see how little we ate of the actual food given to us. The manager came and took our mostly full dishes and asked if anyone wanted dessert. I personally just wanted to get the hell out and away. So none of us ordered and she came around with the bill. We checked the bill and noticed that it had automatically put a gratitude charge on our bill. We refused to pay since only five out of the six of us ate. The manager started to have an attitude with us and started asking why. So we explained in a calm but obviously annoyed manner that the wait time was absolutely ridiculous, the fact that they seemed to want to ignore our table and the fact that food was poor quality and that we refused to pay for the gratuity. She tried to agru and make up excuses for the poor service and time management. In the end she took off the auto-gradtoit and was very short with us as two members of the party checked to make sure the bill was correct. We paid and left, I suggest that if you come here with a party of 2-3 I’m sure you’ll have great service. Anything larger and I wouldn’t waste my time. Shall never...

I have driven past this place for years and kept seeing positive reviews so wanted to try it. Last night, we decided to check it out. I rarely do a Google review, but this place was ranked high and it was definitely not our experience. We were welcomed by friendly staff and a maritime decor and thought it was a positive sign when a table nearby commented how great their first experience was and that they would be back.

We ordered the onion rings with maple bacon aioli and two fish trio meals with seafood chowder as the side. The onion rings were good, but the aioli had no flavour, and definitely not maple bacon. The seafood chowder was chunky with lots of seafood and vegetables and the only highlight of the experience. Our fish plate lacked tartar sauce and a lemon slice, which we noticed was on everyone's else's plate at tables around us. The trio had cod, pollock and haddock, but the server did not identify which was which. The batter on the top piece was good, but sure would have liked a lemon and tartar sauce but the server was nowhere to be seen. The middle piece was quite soggy to the point it fell apart trying to eat it and a spoon would have been better. But, still no server. We took pictures when our food came, so we know that our server was missing from the floor for 18 minutes. I eat out a lot, and cannot remember a server ever disappearing that long without someone else covering for them. No quality check, no drink refill, no nothing, and she had several tables looking for service.

When she finally appeared, she realized she had a new table that she went to first, and they had easily been there 5 minutes if not longer. After giving their order to the kitchen, she came to us and offered a to-go box and the bill. I asked if we were supposed to get a lemon wedge and tartar sauce with our meal, and looking at our plates, she said that they sometimes forget the basic things like ketchup and tartar sauce at the end of the day. It was 630pm! Dinner time. Then she went to the table across from us that received their food before us, and they pointed out that the coleslaw they ordered never came, but they were done at that point. A little service could have significantly improved...

Horrible experience at this restaurant last night going in for a quiet dinner with my family. We have been attending this restaurant for years now back to when my dads friend owned it Lindsay. This place used to be a great place to go and we wanted to continue to support it. Last nights experience will most likely cause us to never return to this establishment again. We placed our order and sat patiently waiting for our food. During this time we observed multiple other tables that arrived after us getting served there food as we still waited. At this time we asked the waitress about the status of our order and she went to check on it in the kitchen. When she returned we where told the reason our order was not ready is because they are very busy in the kitchen dealing with takeout orders? I’m not sure how this was seen as an acceptable response to in store paying customers. We made mention to the waitress that the response was bs and it was pretty obvious that multiple other tables had been giving priority service. The staff became aggressive toward us stating that we swore at them and where being disrespectful which is not the case. The manager lady came out to talk with us and was very aggressive and rude towards us without even knowing the situation. This kinda level of professionalism is unreal coming from a store manager. Instead of working to fix the situation, we where belittled, lectured and down right embarrassed. We decided to leave and got more rude comments from the staff. Well done pelican pier solid...

My son is 4 and has ASD, so restaurants can be a bit overwhelming sometimes - especially if the place is busy or the servers aren't patient. We were only in Calgary 3 days, and my little guy only eats certain foods - Fish and chips being one. Google lead us here and we went early on a Thursday, hoping it would be less busy. The server was great ( I forget the name on the receipt, maybe Kelly?) she was so patient with him, and still spoke to him even though he doesn't always respond or takes longer to answer. He ate all his food and then snatched my halibut, and my clam chowder was delicious. I usually order his food right away and then figure out my order, so he typically finishes his and then I end up taking what's left of mine to go. Once he was finished, she brought him a box of toys to pick from, which gave me sometime to actually eat more of my meal. Then she brought him over his bowl of ice cream and again spoke to him. Typically, once people when they realize he doesn't always respond, they will just ignore him and direct everything at me. I really appreciated that she treated him kindly and acknowledged him. Unfortunately, they are a 3+ hour drive away, but we will absolutely be back the next time we're in Calgary.
