I love Phil’s. The 80s decor, the choice of three pancake syrups, the carafe of coffee. It’s easy to relax into the large booths as you start your morning. Always fast and efficient service. They have your classic seen-it-all diner waitresses which adds to the experience. This is not a gourmet experience, but rather a diner breakfast that is exceptionally consistent and filling. It’s not a wildly good value, but not outrageously expensive either. The senior citizens who frequent it understand. This spot is no fuss, get what you pay for, breakfast food. I will say I’ve never eaten a meal other than breakfast here. Maybe one day. But as long as there’s chubbies and eggs with a choice of two sides (cottage cheese and a buckwheat pancake, please) I can’t imagine going for any other meal.

Amberlea is the one who served us with her cheery and bright demeanor. She was quick and efficient with her service and made sure to keep checking on us Even the hostess greeted us with a sincere smile and guided us to our table without delay. The music was rock n roll instead of the standard elevator music at other places which was a refreshing change. It is easy to get here and find parking. The entrance is facing 17th and the parking is either on the side or in the back. The Eggs Benedict were ok. The poached eggs were perfect but the ham was a bit tough. The portion of shredded potatoes was good too. It is a good reliable place to grab some real breakfast. #supportlocalbusiness
