Didn’t try the food because the restaurant would not serve us. Why? Because one person in our party is here on a visitor visa and does not have a QR code. Even though she was double vaccinated here in Canada, she only has the paperwork from Alberta Health. I confirmed later on that QR codes are not provided to visitors to Canada. I tried to explain this to the staff but they still refused to serve us. Before today, I had no problem with entering various establishments with the paperwork. Funny enough, I went to Quynh Vietnamese nearby after being rejected and they had no problem with us. The food was excellent too (a blessing in disguise). All kidding aside, I understand who they choose to serve is at their discretion. So my takeaway is this, Pho Ha CHOSE not to serve us because of our nationality and used the QR code regulation as an excuse. I understand it is a tough time for restaurants these days, but I found it difficult to support this bigoted restaurant who refused to serve someone who is not Canadian. However, I hope they will change their ways in the near future so no one has to go through what we...
Read moreI went to this restaurant today and when I seated Myself no one came to my table to ask for water , usually pho places serve Iced water. I asked them for water then they made a bad face and served water. Then I order my food and they bring me a bowl. They gave me more noodles and less soup , I asked her that soup is less she started talking to me rudely and said this is how we serve, and interrupted me by saying No No No very rudely a lot of times . There is a way to talk to a customer. You say politely not Rudely. I am from a Different culture so they treated me badly. Then she goes and start saying bad things to her co worker in front of me but In a different language that I could not understand. That is not how you treat a customer. Then another lady comes in she treats her differently, may be because she was not from different culture. She brought her water and everything and Treated her nicely. I am very disappointed We live in a diverse country and should treat everyone with same respect. There should be no bias. They are in service sector and should know that they should...
Read moreWent for pho with a friend, and they have che ba mau- the 3 bean drink - which is hard to find and I LOVE IT.
I always get pho satay because I love spice, and I asked for mine extra spicy it was perfect, not too spicy, just enough chili oil to make it nice and red!
My friend also had the pho satay but normal spice. It looks not spicy at all.
The broth is good, portions standard (meaning a small is still huge)
The ice coffee came premade so I didn't have to sit watching it drip for 8 years, and boy oh boy was it ever strong!
All in all, it was good :-) 👍🏼 and the prices are reasonable, making pho one of the best dining out options for this...
