Worst Joey's experience ever Go to MacLeod Tr, Westbrook or Crowchild Tr or Edmonton Tr locations instead!!! This location is clearly poorly managed and NOT FOOD SAFE. Beginning of dinner rush, they were out of rice and seasonal vegetables and did not tell us until after we had ordered. Also asked about kids card promotion and no staff were sure of what I was asking about. Later man claiming to by location manager came and talked to us about kids card promo. I also asked him why this location did not offer all you can eat fish tacos on Thursday like the other Calgary locations. He replied that this was discontinued by all Alberta stores a few months ago by corporate office. Boldface lie as three locations I called later offer this special including shrimp, chicken or fish tacos all you can eat for between $16.5 to $18. Be honest and just say your location does not offer this special instead of telling customers all stores are not offering. I would have went to another location instead of ordering there. Towards end of dining, I watched an Asian gentleman walk in with a cambro container of rice that was uncovered. How is this clean or safe to do coming from Crowfoot Circle NW location. After seeing this we stopped eating our food on table and left. Food was ok quality with fish and fries crispy. My wife ordered Caesar salad that had soggy soft croutons. Server states that croutons are kept in fridge now and that is their practice. Management does not order enough to keep menu items available as stated earlier. Kitchen was dirty with news paper and items on ground around kitchen. I feel bad for server working as she provide friendly and fast service despite issues in kitchen. Highly recommended others to go to another location like MacLeod Tr, Westbrook or Crowchild Trail locations for a better experience. Been a Joey's customer for years going several times a month and just moved to North Calgary. Never had an experience like this before or seen food transported uncovered in a vehicle like I saw today. Eat at your own risk.
Also their pricing is more expensive than the...
Read moreWent there last night, Tuesday as it is the All You Can Eat special Tuesdays. I lived in the Northwest and drove all the way to this location as it was more convenient for my friend. We checked the hours of operation and it was stated that it closes at 9 Pm. We arrived at 7.45 Pm and was told they were closing in 15 minutes. Told them that they should update their website as it stated 9 PM. The waitress then offered me take outs. I refused and then then they say, OK, OK, you can sit. They wanted to close early because the only customer they had there was just leaving and they want to close early. This is not the first time i drove to this location and the business is close. A few months ago when it snowed heavy, I drive there and found a note on the door saying itbis closed due to weather conditions. I did not dine or order any foods from this location last nite as I feel a business that sets their priority on closing rather than opening as advertised isn't worth my loyalty. I see that by this Am, they have now updated their business hrs on their website. Too little too late. Others Joey's locations, killarney and one in Nw, Crowfoot is a better choice.
June 1, 2022 UPDATE. As you can see below they replied and asked me to give them my email address. I did so, twice. I did not get any response from them. Obviously they responded here just to give the impression that they actually care about these complaints, the truth is they don't I sure hope head office reviews...
Read moreordered HALIBUT 3 piece with fries and coleslaw. got home no coleslaw in bag, fries tasted good, fish tasted offal, bad, made me vomit, and soon after ran to washroom for a bout of diarrhea. I contacted the restaurant and told them what had happened, and I was told the manager would be contacting me. 2 days later the manager told me I was entitled to 2 free sides but no refund on the poor food, also the Halibut was really California Flounder. The California halibut or California flounder (Paralichthys californicus) is a large-tooth flounder native to the waters of the Pacific Coast of North America from the Quillayute River in Washington to Magdalena Bay in Baja California. It feeds near shore and is free swimming. It typically weighs 6 to 30 pounds (3 to 23 kg). It is much smaller than the larger and more northern-ranging Pacific halibut that can reach 300 pounds (140 kg).
This is an unusual fish in that one eye has to migrate around from one side to the other as it grows from an upright fry or baby fish into an adult fish that lies on its side. The adult has two eyes on the up-side as it lies on the bottom. Most flatfish are generally either right-eyed or left-eyed, but the California halibut is unusual in having a roughly even number of each type. Like other flatfish, the halibut hides under sand or loose gravel and blends...
