DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. We just ordered Uber eats and it was the worst pita I've ever seen in my life. How they packaged it and gave it to us is beyond me. First off, the pita was hard, like it had been sitting out for days.. something you would throw out because you can't even possibly open it up properly from being so crusted. I assume because of this old, crusted pita they had difficulty actually filling it properly.. the pita was wrapped in a way that I thought it was two pitas at first like one wrapped in another, just for me to find out the pita wasn't completely opened when they made it. Maybe a third or less was actually opened and stuffed with fillings then they attempted to wrap this crusted, unopened pita so obviously it didn't work out and both ends were opened so the food was pouring out of it. It was almost like it was a after thought that they needed to wrap it. Inside the pita was also concerning.. the meat was not warm (not sure if they even cooked it) and my chicken had something all over it (it may have been seasoning, but it sort of looked like mold because it was a green colour). My fiancé's pita was not toasted (we specifically asked for his to be and it even showed on the receipt that we requested this) and his meat was actually cold, so his was definitely not cooked. I was honestly baffled that they actually gave us this food in this condition and that we paid money for this. To my regret, I had a few bites because I was so hungry (this was before I realized my fiancé's pita was also in the same condition) and now I'm seriously concerned that this place is not up to code and I'm going to get food poisoning from improper handling. I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped food on the floor, picked it up and stuffed it in the pita. I'm not sure if they make all pitas this way or the worker was having a bad day, but it was unacceptable. We did order close to closing time, but that doesn't give them the right to prepare awful pitas with the oldest, most stale bits of food they have. I would give them negative stars as they should have to pay people to eat this garbage. If a health inspector is reading this, please...
Read moreBeing that this is the ONLY Pita Pit in Calgary, we drove 25 mins there and 30 mins back JUST to enjoy some tasty pitas with the particular ingredients and sauces only THIS location within city limits offers.
Was it worth it ? Absolutely not.
We went to Pita Pit with our small child and upon ordering the clerk was getting used to a new POS system - totally understandable. I've worked customer service almost 20 years - I know how intimidating a big order for 3 people can be when getting used to a completely different system - we were patient.
When picking the ingredients for our meals the lady seemed very rushed. Before she can even put the vegetables on our pitas she kept saying "and... and... and." I found it to be very rude and rushed. We forgot a few toppings on all 3 of our pitas that we enjoy. We enjoy crispy bacon, and tons of veggies as well as beverages that DO NOT contain plastic of any sort. We waited for our pitas and once we recieved our child's pita (which they made last), we were eager to sit down and enjoy our pitas we traveled half way across the city for.
When our child refused to drink anymore of their smoothie - half way through - I took it away and noticed there was a lot of plastic or some kind of food label blended in to their smoothie.
I immediately got up and started to address the entire experience to two women. I said we would like our money back for our smoothie and explained our circumstance as stated above. The Teller/Clerk was very apologetic and thought my request was fair and returned the $5.25 as promised. The other lady who wore a red apron but no name tag just stared at me - uncomfortably and didn't seem to acknowledge the severity of the situation.
We tipped over $10.00 for a meal that was thrown together, rushed service, an hour drive and that cost the 3 of us about $70 in total.
If you are craving some pitas - perhaps reconsider a more customer service orientated establishment that isn't the only location within city limits located half way across the city from you with an uncomfortable, rushed atmosphere that may serve you...
Read moreI'm glad to see that other people are having the same issues with me. Its disappointing because I've been going here since I was in high school like 15 years ago. My last experience was so brutal, I hope if this is a franchise Pita Pit kicks them out and brings in a new owners to clean this place up or the owners step up.
The place always looks in shambles. From the decor, to the appliances, to the disgusting bathroom. They are always out of a lot of items. I'm not just talking being out of one item. Its always like we are out of white pitas, cucumbers, this cheese, etc. Staff seem very inexperienced or just don't care. Last time I went it was so bizarre. First, there was an older lady working the till and just had no idea what she was doing. Tried over charging me for bacon on our pitas and I tried to help her correct it but she was so frazzled and couldn't figure it out. I just let it go and moved on. Second, the group in front of me complained to the other woman who was making their pitas because she was going around and touching everything which was not hygienic at all. Third, after the older lady rang everyone in there were a few people waiting in line and instead of helping the other woman she just kind of awkwardly stood there for a bit. Then, she got the hint and tried to help the other lady but ended up moving everyone's orders around and you could see the frustration on the other lady's face. Fourth, after they figured out which order was mine they let us know all of the items that were out which is usual for this place. Fifth, after finishing I used the washroom and it was disgusting.
I honestly won't be to this place unless it undergoes some major changes. Its not even like a one time thing, it is consistently bad every time you go. Sad because like I mentioned it has good memories for me and has gone...
