I don't normally write reviews at all (this is my first) and I usually don't bother writing negative ones because no business is perfect. But this time it was warranted, because I've never been to a restaurant as bad as DC Bistro.
I don't understand why this place has so many good reviews - maybe they're friends/family of the owners or something. Our experience was a total nightmare from beginning to end.
Two lights above our table were not working, and another one was just straight up missing a light bulb, so it was very dark and didn't make for a good atmosphere - the staff said they would look into it, but never did.
It didn't matter though, because the service was so ridiculously slow that we may not have been able to eat anyway. It took close to half an hour for them to serve a mango lassi (and they charge like $8 for it), and it was an hour and a half before we had any food served to us at all. Our kids were starving and kept asking why they were so slow. The restaurant offered no explanation at all aside from blank apologies, and kept saying it would "just be a few more minutes".
Honestly, it just seemed like they were complete amateurs. The food was so-so at best - the sambhar that came with idlis was more like carrot soup, the garlic naan was bland, and the paneer dish we ordered was not enough in quantity and wasn't that great either.
At the end, the staff offered no explanation or apologies, and did not discount any of the bill - I didn't ask because I was fed up and just wanted to leave, but they didn't earn themselves a second chance with that one.
Do yourself a favor and skip DC Bistro - there are so many better options, even in the same plaza. One of their nearby competitors is actually one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to...and unlike DC Bistro, I WILL be going...
Read moreI preordered through SkipTheDishes, originally for 12 coworkers, including myself, for the next day. Shortly after I placed the order though, I needed to add one more item to it but Skip wouldn't allow it. I decided to reach out to DC directly and I'm so glad I did. I was very happy with my experience with them. They helped us out when SkipTheDishes wouldn't and promised the extra pizza. The owner, Sandeep, even called me the next day to ensure the order as promised. He was really friendly and professional; already making us feel like valued customers.
On top of the excellent customer service, the food was delicious. 10/10. Our order included DC Specialty pizza, Italian Garlic pizza, Pepperoni, Hawaiian & Gluten-Free Tandoori pizza.
Finally, I think it's really important right now to mention THEY OFFER DELIVERY. I was so disappointed in Skip not allowing me to add more to my order, which was making this local business loose a sale.
I've been told by other local businesses that they don't really make a profit with their orders through Skip, like, at all. Some are lucky to break even. Although I didn't hear this through DC Pizza Bistro themselves, I wanted to point this out so the customers who want to support local businesses, can do so, as best as possible.
Lots of local businesses offer delivery themselves - I will be sure to always check with them directly first, before using any multimillion 3rd party delivery app.
Sandeep, thank you for your business! We will happily continue to support DC...
Read moreWe came in expecting a relaxing meal and some quality time, but unfortunately, the service was anything but unprofessional. While one of us was still eating and another was still enjoying a drink, the waitress came to our table not once, not twice, but three or four times asking us to settle the bill. It felt extremely rude and intrusive. We hadn’t asked for the check, and we certainly weren’t done. The repeated interruptions made us feel rushed and unwelcome, as if they wanted to clear the table whether we were finished or not.
The worst part, however, came afterward. I attempted to leave a review about the experience but after looking deeper, I found multiple suspiciously glowing reviews clearly written by friends or family of the staff, praising the same waitress and trying to overshadow genuine feedback from real customers.
This kind of behavior is dishonest and disrespectful to paying guests. Rather than accepting criticism and improving, the restaurant seems more focused on burying negative reviews and inflating their ratings with fake ones.
A good restaurant owns its mistakes and uses feedback to grow. This place clearly doesn’t. Between the pushy service and the dishonest cover-up, it’s safe to say I won’t be returning—and I’d strongly caution others to look beyond the 5-star reviews before...
