Okay let me tell you about the most wonderful place on earth. Shawarma Barlow is a gem that while in a world full of uncertainty and confusion shines through like an angel descending upon this world in desperate need of a savior. Shawarma Barlow is this savior. From the outside many may think that it looks like a run down drug den, but it takes only your faith and belief to take the first step into this holy sanctuary. You will find a modern slick shawarma place that fills the hearts of all that brave the trek to this garden of eden. Never before will you be treated this well by employees who's goal in life is to make your day and they make sure this job is fulfilled every time you enter. They show such care and kindness while preparing what can only be described as the best wraps in the world. The flavours intertwine with each other in a beautiful dance which for the greatness you taste with every bite. Every ingredient is perfect and harmoniously works with the rest. The grill pattern which may be seen as just a stylistic choice helps to tie this whole meal together. The pink stuff which you can get added is just so good that it is beyond my ability to describe with words. This simply elegent EXPERIENCE created through the dedication of the wonderful employees brings a not a tear to the eyes of those lucky enough to be blessed with this spiritual adventure, but rather leaves these "customers" balling out of their eyes for they have witnessed true magic. The experience created is nearly identical to the one depicted in the movie Ratatouille where the food critic is transported back to his childhood home thanks to the food graciously blessed upon him by the little chef Remi himself which pulls up truly, happy memories of his parents food. This is the beauty of which Shwarma Barlow presents to you as well. And as you may have guessed if you were not entirely incompetent this blessed place is just off of...
Read moreToday March the 4th my friend and I we came to Calgary from Edmonton in search of some vehicles. We were at the traffic lights and my friend said we should eat something, and he started to look up for restaurants around. I looked to my left and I saw this beautiful looking building with nice big sign SHWARMA BARLOW and immediately I've suggested him to go eat there as I've tried shwarma before and I know it's good and delicious, but since it's holy month of Ramadan I can't eat but I said to him that he can. I said to him this nice building must have good food so he agreed to give it a go.
Parking lot nice, wide, clean and alot of room to park. Upon the entry I've spotted that floor was clean, tables were organized and clean. Staff was looking friendly and food smelled extremely nice. I knew I didn't made mistake suggesting to my friend to go eat there.
He ordered for himself and I sat down and was telling to myself that I should make order as well and bring some food for iftar and sahoor next day so I ordered large donair with beef and large donair with chicken.
I knew I had to wait until iftar but I wasn't loosing hope that donairs will stay nice, fresh and juicy untill 1820 today but that was at 1100 am. It was tough to resist that good smelling food but it was worth it!! Damn worth it!
Just had iftar and sure thing my donairs are amazing in taste! I also ordered some greek sada which is perfectly made and some tobuli salad sprinkled on top of the greek salad. Also I must say THANK YOU to the person who packed few baklavas for free for me when I mentioned that this food will be my iftar and sahoor. Many thanks for your kindness may Allah bless you!
I'm very pleased with overall experience at SHWARMA BARLOW and definitely will be place to stop to eat when I cone to Calgary again.
May Allah increases your health and wealth and...
Read moreI I was looking forward to trying Shawarma Barlow for a while now but unfortunately did not have a good experience. We ordered a chicken Shawarma, donair poutine and two samosas. We asked the guy behind the counter if they had meat pies but all he gave us was a blank stare and just kept starting at us clearly indicating that he did not want to be there. The Shawarma/Donair meat was not cut freshly but was previously sliced and stored in bins which is rare for Shawarma shops. We had to ask to put the meat on the grill. The food was not warmed properly and cold and had to go back in and ask to warm the wrap and samosas a second time. The guy then attempts to put both food items in the microwave in front of me & I had to ask him to stop and put it on the grill. Very rude with no manners! The lady on the other hand was kind. There was no regular size wraps left & only large so she said she will charge us for a regular. The poutine was good. I chewed on a small bone and hurt my tooth from the beef donair in my poutine and my family member felt very sick after eating the chicken Shawarma. Overall, we had a bad experience, especially from the guy behind the counter. I had heard and read good reviews about this place but I was wrong. Please ask him if he actually wants to work there because it seems like he doesn’t or at least train him with some decent...
