Sprout society is definitely worth the price of admission. Meals are generally pretty good (you'll figure out which ones you like over time), portions are fair for the price, and the team is great at pausing / restarting subscriptions with no fees, or hassle (at least at the time of me writing this). Some down falls: the new delivery company has been lacklustre, and I was actually handed the wrong order recently - would have been stuck with it had I not been at the door to catch the mistake. The delivery drivers still leave the food at the wrong entrance despite a couple of phone calls with the company. Sprout Society also makes you pay extra for a few dishes, citing that it is a "mandatory donation to a charity", and there is no way to opt out (or at least... I'm too dim to find it). I am more than happy to donate to charity, but I prefer it to be on my own terms, and this feels a bit like a sneaky way to boost prices (which I'm sure it isn't, but, hey... it's the world we live in). But I just avoid purchasing those few select meals, and donate to groups that I choose to support, and have vetted myself, so... an easy workaround!

Read moreI signed up for a monthly subscription without realizing that the meals are all plant-based and am so happy I got to try it out as a happy accident.
My husband and I are not vegan and enjoy our meats, but we were beyond impressed with the quality and taste of the food. I especially loved the breakfast burritos and chia puddings, as well as the Thai dishes and Mac’n’ cheese. So so yummy.
Every dish is super flavour packed although more on the spicier side, which is not my usual go to. When I reached out, they offered to put a note on my account to reduce the heat in the future.
I had contacted support on several occasions based on my ordering mistakes and confusion, and Amy and support team were exceptionally prompt in replying, very considerate and kind.
In fact, when they noticed that I didn’t see the full menu selection when choosing meals a few weeks ahead, Amy emailed me herself with a refund for the week and a reset cart as the few existing staples on the menu were extra charge and she recognized that I chose the items since it was an incomplete menu so far ahead. Shows how much they care about your experience as opposed to money. Had it been a larger company, they definitely wouldn’t have cared.
100 percent recommend to try at least a week or individual meals even for non vegans and vegetarians for some diversity and delicious flavour.

Food & price: Pretty good food overall. Nice combination of flavours, well cooked. Price is expensive but competitive to all of the other options we've tried. Good value for the money. Selection: Poor for a family of four. Usually only about 10 options each week, and we would rule our the spicy ones and the ones we’ve had and didn’t like. So about 5 options each week that we would order. Subscription: Nice to see them offer it cheaper with a few options. They've missed quit a few delivery windows but hopefully it had recently improved. You can’t actually order you meals a month an ahead and if you miss the selection window, get ready to contact customer service and ask for help (however they have been quite helpful!). And there’s no option to stop them from auto-selecting and skipping a week. Reusable containers: They have switched to single use containers which you can’t reseal, so eating the food family style is a problem however they indicated that they were only getting 45-60% of the containers returned. Customer Service: An area they have been improving and i'm happy with the communications I've had with them recently.
They are one of the few vegetarian only options, and the tastiest one. Some areas of concern but hopefully they resolve...
