Confined Escape Rooms — Attraction in Calgary

Booked the alice in wonderland 3d. Was so much fun. Puzzles had a range of assortments between easy and hard. There was a puzzle for everyone of my family to figure out. The room was spectacular. The moment you walked in you were amazed by the set. It was so bright, colorful and the 3d popped everywhere. We were so excited we booked the Frankenstein room next. The steam punk was apparent on the door before you even entered the room. When in the room there was so much to see and do. The set was so spectacular we were in awe for our first 5 minutes. We found the puzzles to be a bit more challenging but when you solved them you really were more excited. My favourite about the experience is the game master didnt enter the room to give you a clue instead would have a clue put on a screen in the room so it didnt take away from the fact that you are immersed in this reality and locked in. I also loved that if you were struggling but so close the game master could give you a small nudge on the screen without giving you a full clue and that seemed to make the game more fun because it took the stress out of enjoying an activity with the family. Our game master was so sweet and made our experience a complete joy. We are looking forward to trying out the other two rooms they have. We have been to plenty of escape rooms and this by far has been the best experience. There were no broken items in the rooms, all clues were in the right spots, rooms were clean, rooms were well decorated, the way the game master could listen if you asked for a clue instead of pushing a button for someone to come help, the way they displayed clues on a screen and the wonderful staff all made this a five star experience for my...

We did the Trump Escape room. Overall their customer service was above and beyond unfortunately that’s the only positive to our experience. We had two birthdays in the group and could only use one free birthday coupon do closet birthday got to play for free (reasonable may be switch to discount like 2 for 1 in that case ). We showed up late (called in advance) and they still accommodate us as well as let us finish the room since we were “so close” (pretty standard). All the jokes were hilarious but undermined by the difficulty. I have done so escape rooms in the past and this ranks at the bottom for me. The way to receive hints eats up your time and is super inconvenient.The puzzle clues aren’t close to the locks making it difficult to decipher which clue goes where. Also some of the clues were super cryptic or mismatched or off by a number making it look like it was just decor when in fact it was an important lock combo. Even with a demonstration on some locks we still got stuck even with the right combo. We lost I say about 5-10 minutes on a major puzzle which needs to upgrade its moving pieces to allow for smother movements as well as staying in place (which appears to be a known issue since they offered to over ride it). I would not recommend this puzzle room for any first timers. We have done many escape rooms, and we were not impressed with the Frankenstein room.

Two of the puzzles was broken, and we were warned that one of them might not be working. We wasted around 10-15 min doing the correct sequence before asking for help and clarification. One of the puzzles opened up earlier than anticipated, and we received the reward. Despite this we thought we had to continue working on the puzzle, and were confused as to what progression was unlocked. There was a matching game that required patience to complete, as hitting the buttons too quickly seemed to fail the series - with no real indication on whether we were completing it correctly.

The puzzles themselves seemed to be in a series, which no apparent concurrent activities. The puzzles didn’t appear to have a flow either, as in we did not know which direction to go. All we were aware of is that we required keys and a few codes, but then nothing to indicate where you would get these from.
