Terrible experience. Ordered a Monte Cristo sandwich on ubereats, but what I received was not a Monte Cristo sandwich. I would call it a boring tasteless grilled cheese with ham and turkey. It's common knowledge that a Monte Cristo sandwich is made with french toast as the bread. Pretty simple. Dip some bread in some eggs, cream, and vanilla, then toast it on the grill/pan. Then just use it like normal bread to make a sandwich. Instead I get plain toast. How pathetically boring and bland is that? No spices, nothing added to make it yummy. It's just bland plain food that you shovel into your mouth to fill the hole in your stomach. I didn't order a stupid grilled cheese, but even if I did I could have made it better as a dumb kid in high school who barely used the kitchen.

If this was on purpose, then whoever came up with the menu needs to rename that sandwich to something not so blatantly false, and then go get their palette tested because I think they're afraid of flavor. Like really. Whoever thinks that could be worth more then $5 has no business working around food. I would have gotten more flavor out of an old 711 hot dog.

If this was just a mistake, then whoever made my order ought to be put back through training again so they can learn some basic standards.

The fries were decent at least, not great but not bad either. Sadly the best thing I say...

We were semi regulars there, and the food has been decent, but the last time, I don't know what happened. I'm wondering if the regular cook was off/fired/left whatever, because that night everything was off.

Now, don't get me wrong - It's a local pub, and it's pub food that's usually on the level. But we got the 'special' which was a steak dinner, and the cook did all 3 well done. We usually ask for rare. Not even close this day.

And Calgary/Alberta is supposed to be like the steak capital... or some quasi-title like that, yet no matter where I go (Cattle Baron's, local pubs, steak houses, etc) in Calgary, I'm finding the steak is mediocre, with too much gristle. And it seems to be a steady thing for the last few years now. Getting that at a local pub, ok... fine... but EVERYWHERE?

When I travel to the Maritimes, I get great seafood at even the local, hole-in-the-wall pubs. But I can't get a decent steak...

We attended a 50th birthday party recently, our waitress was amazing albeit very overwhelmed with it being her 3rd day on shift, she did her best, was very friendly and apologetic for the length of time it took to get our drinks all night. The bartender was extremely slow and her pace didn't change all night. It wasn't until much later that some help arrived for them. Having known about the party and it being booked a couple of months ago, they certainly didn't staff it properly. Our host ordered combo platters and nachos that were placed on adjacent tables with no serving utensils. I know that "covid" is still a thing but people touching food is disgusting ! So we decided to order pizza, it came out in good time and piping hot it was a great pizza. This is a great neighbourhood pub, the food and drinks are priced reasonably. Would i book an event there ? Likely not, unless they could ensure a little...

The location was not a good advertise area for example it is not appealing from viewing outside. But when you walk in it is a very nice Sport Bar. It has pool tables and good varieties of tables to sit. It is a clean bar very busy. The girls work here a very busy so is hard to get their attention but our waitress is very nice and generous. She gave us some good recommendation we went for calamari and pizza. The calamari was very season well and crispy very good. The pizza is very good too I'll recommend go for the specialized Pizza such as Stavros special. The topping is very generous and it is not over top. This sport for a have daily specials so definitely go for the days you want to try the food out such as half price Pizza on Sunday or $7 for steak sandwich on Wednesdays. Does remind me of Cheers you can say... your are neighborhood Sports Bar.

We came to Stavros Pizza & Sports Bar for their wing special and were really impressed with the number of flavours available. It was tough to choose! We ended up going with Garlic Parmesan, Asian Blast, and Dill Pickle, and each had a bold, unique taste. The only downside was that the wings were a bit overdone, making them drier and crispier than we’d prefer. The service, though, was top notch. Shelly was super friendly, checked in on us often, and made sure everything was running smoothly. The value was also great! Three orders of wings, a large Caesar salad, and drinks for just over $40. You really can’t beat that. If you’re looking for a casual spot with great service, solid prices, and tons of wing options, Stavros is definitely worth checking out. We’ll be back and maybe next time to try their pizza!
