Subway — Restaurant in Calgary

Just went here and had the worst customer service experience, i am always very kind and cordial to anyone who works in the service industry as i do myself, its a tough job, but this lady was something else.

i went in and asked for a specific sandwich, she started by not even asking what type of bread i wanted so i let her know and then went to the back for a few minutes. when she returned it’s like we hadn’t had a conversation at all, she starts by asking me what type of protein i want i proceed to tell her (after already having told her the one i wanted) but i figured okay it’s late, you’re tired, i get it. We get to cheese and she asks me what type i blatantly say shredded she continues to put white cheddar and then shredded on top? i wasn’t mad about the extra cheese, but unnecessary. I realized at this point that she was in her own world and i would need to be a bit firmer - sure enough it comes time for veggies and she immediately goes to grab a giant handful of lettuce - i do t really like lettuce and was able to let her know i didn’t want it before she put it on. She gave me a measly 8 leaves of spinach, 8 cucumbers and enough red onions to make the upstairs neighbour smell my breath - whatever, it’s fine i’m not gonna say anything. now sauce is where i don’t mess around, i’m very picky about sauce and such and after her ASKING what kind of sauce i wanted she looks me straight in the eye and grabs a completely different sauce (and they couldn’t be mixed up if she tried, they’re also literally labelled on the caps) and when i told her that isn’t what i wanted all she had to say was “well i can’t do anything it’s on there now” so i just said whatever and asked her to put the correct sauce on. i’ll admit at this point im frustrated because i really just wanted my food the way i wanted it, and this woman didn’t have a care in the world.

When it came time to pay she sat there trying to figure out how to charge me for all of the stuff she had put on and then came full circle to the conclusion that what i got was the sandwich i wanted 🙄 i know this is a first world problem but i went on a late night walk to go grab some subway because i didn’t feel like cooking & now im just utterly disappointed in A) my sandwich, and B) the attitude/rudeness that i was given...

I recently visited your establishment and was extremely disappointed with the treatment I received. Despite informing the staff that I am pregnant and urgently needed to use the washroom, I was denied access. I even offered to purchase food in good faith, yet I was still refused.

The excuse given was that the washroom was “not working,” but it seemed more like an unwillingness to accommodate a basic human need — especially for someone in a medically vulnerable condition. This lack of empathy and poor service is unacceptable and deeply concerning.

I hope you take this feedback seriously and work towards treating all customers — especially those with legitimate medical needs — with respect and compassion...

For a subway, 10/10

Eaten here many times throught the year as it is close, never had any issues with food quality, service, or any weird people hanging about

Staff have reacted kindly when I show up unshaven and a slob workin on finals for school or week long overtime work, or when I am dressed up proper and clean in a respectable way, never had an issue here and honestly can highly suggest this place in particular
