What is wrong with this Tim's location?
I live nearby and we avoid this location unless it's the only thing open. We've been told at 6:00 pm they were out of sandwich bread so they made our sandwiches across a series of tiny rolls, we've got at 6:00 am and been told they are out of hashbrowns, and now we come to our current 1:00 am adventure...
Husband and I ordered two Bailey's Lattes, decaf. The guy seemed confused by the order, so we restated it. Then he said hang on, disappeared for a minute, then told us to drive up. Already it was giving the weird vibes.
We get to the window and my husband holds up our Tim's card to scan. The guy at the window took the card physically from my husband, along with my debit card. After he was done with the Tim's card, he handed it back to my husband but then he tried to take my debit card out of my view to scan??? We both "wow wow wow"-ed him (you know what I mean) and I said do not take my card from me. He hesitated before returning our card and passing us the debit machine.
Of course now things are REALLY shady so we ask for a receipt. He looks at his computer (or whatever, I couldn't see it from my lower angle; short car), and then just stares at it. We wait. And Wait. I'd say about 3-5 minutes waiting before he says "I'm having trouble with the machine". Obviously now I REALLY want my receipt. Some more time, I think he called to someone else and then moments later we got our receipt.
There was also a guy hanging out right by the drive thru window, he kind of peeked at us, saw me notice him, then he started to wander away. I honestly wondered if I was about to get murdered at the weird Tim's, which is not a classy way to go to say the least.
We get home and... Well... The cups are not full and one of them has what I think might supposed to be whipped cream on it? The other has no such thing. Keep in mind we ordered two of the exact same thing here and paid $9.00 for it (I would know, I got the receipt eventually ;P)
We have never once been here when things weren't at least a little weird. It's like some sort of twilight zone Tim Horton's.
Update: We finally dared to take a sip of our drinks. They literally taste like someone tossed some of their coffee into milk (I know that's basically what a latte is, but there's a pretty big leap from "some coffee thrown in some warm milk" and "latte". Read more-UPDATE- This is most definitely has the laziest and rudest staff I have ever had the displeasure being served by. The majority of the ones working the evening shift tonight are pointing at me and laughing while I'm waiting for my mobile order that they haven't even started a full 10 minutes after I ordered it. Considering I had one of the employees ask me yesterday if I was the one leaving negative reviews and now the service has gotten EVEN WORSE tells me that I am now being specifically targeted by the staff here.
When you factor in their bribery of the CPS members who come to this business on their breaks, in the form of free food and beverages, and the treatment of the local "homeless" population by those very same CPS members, I can no longer overlook the obvious connection between how the employees of this location treat us and our unfair treatment at the hands of the members of the Calgary Police Service.
-UPDATE- Morning staff refused to honor an offer from the app, claiming that I had already redeemed it when that would have been impossible since the offers disappear when used. When I asked to speak to the manager, the cashier pointed across the kitchen area and walked away. They continued to serve customers at the other till and simply acted as if I didn't exist at all.
So, quite simply, they fraudulently tried to charge a higher price than advertised (also called misrepresentation), called me a liar and accused me of trying to steal from them, then refused to even try to find out what the issue was.
Considering the attitude of the overnight employee 3 weeks ago, I can't help but wonder if they would have acted in this way if I was not "homeless."
-ORIGINAL- The night staff here are pushy and prejudiced against those of us who live outdoors. They lock the doors whenever they want to in order to justify kicking out any of "our kind" who happen to be customers at the time.
I am unsure of the stance of either the manager or the owner of this location regarding this discriminatory practice, but I guarantee that the corporate office wouldn't want this act of segregation attatched to the Tim Horton's brand. My suggestion to them is to take a long, hard look at the action of their staff and ask themselves if the lawsuit and subsequent loss of their franchise rights...
