We were in Calgary for the day. And husband and I remember that they had Vern pizza! Of course we knew exactly what we wanted ( MOMA MIA)!!! This is like your typical house pizza BUT it a 5 POUNDS OF HEAVEN!! You can only order 15/18 inch due to amount of toppings and YES THERE IS A LOT!! ( see pictures I posted). I and my husband really like their sauce it a little sweet not overly. When we place the order we knew it was going to take longer than normal for it to be delivered (40 min, just to cook.) The guy over the phone was pleasant and even asked if we could use plates forks etc BONUS!! Yes when we got our food within an hour of calling ( 15 min drive) they remember the plates etc we had said yes too. It been a few years since we have had Vern :( . But this place in Calgary never left us down! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND trying this pizza ( MOMA MIA) for anyone who is really hungry or loves house pizza. Very filling pizza and worth the cost hand down! When the delivery guy came same professional and friendly.

Original thick? Maybe not... Purchased VERY doughy pizzas before (slices fell apart even when asked for extra cooking, staff tell me "Ok ok") and that's why I stopped eating here after many years. After 2 separate tries again the verdict is still the same. Not what the food used to be at all. =( Purchased a 10" Thick Flamethrower tonight and it is very thin and almost falling apart. Just because it's a smaller pizza doesn't mean it should be built like a 2 for 1. The first try pizza was only slightly thicker in toppings and I had to try again. 2 Stars because both pizzas, ingredients were nice and fresh. Better off making your own at home with nice dough and sauce recipes and a pizza stone.

It's a nice change of pace for pizza. For the uninitiated, Vern's whole schtick is that they load the pizza with TONS of toppings under the cheese, making for incredibly hefty slices. This means that you don't get that crispiness you get with toppings on top of the cheese and the bottom is a little greasy, but you do get a really filling slice. More then that, I'm a fan of how light and fluffy the crust is, and the flavorful sauce. It's not for everyone, but it's a nice treat every once in awhile. Just don't try and eat more then one slice!

I ordered today for the first time. Ordered a thin crust well done, with extra mozzarella and extra cheddar. The pizza was cold when it arrived, no big deal. Then I opened the box and found the thinnest pizza I've ever seen. Not just thin crust, thin toppings. Toppings that I paid for, but didn't get. When I called them I was told that "next time" they would put the extra toppings, but I would have to call them first. Why would I ever order from there again? Dont waste your time or money. Order elsewhere.

Pretty poor business practise to advertise your store hours and then not follow them, wasting peoples time…. Had a buddy recommend this place and gave me his menu. I was going after work on a Friday, I drove out of my way to get there. Arrived at 1140pm and it’s closed, no employees inside and all lights off. An hour and 20 minutes before the advertised closing hours. Disappointing. But after reading the reviews they really don’t seem to care much about customers or the reputation of their overpriced pizza joint…
